I tested all full auto weapons in MW2 and MW3 and I’ve never seen a difference between synthetic and real version of any weapon if synthetic fired at the same ROF.
More, sometimes, by mistake, during some tests, I fired synthetic rifles assuming there is ROF change (but it wasn’t) and I was confused as it behaved exactly as the original weapon…
Ofc, there might be some rounding issues, so the synthethic one might be a bit different…

I've tested myself 7 guns today. And the results are something like interesting. Framerate was 91 FPS.I will compare my results with guides' numbers: UMP45: 628.5 RPM (guides: 630 RPM); that is strange ... I 'll test UMP45 again, but I do not believe I can update my results by more than 5 rpm, if no obvious mistake occured... edit: yes there was a mistake .... thanks for feedback!.... I used a 30-round mag for calculations, while UMP45 has a 32-round mag ... sh.t, sorry. times to empty the mag the same, but as the number of rounds increased, ROF up: UMP45 - 603 rpm UMP45+RF - 775 rpm (+28%) do you use alterIWnet MW2, clown?

do you use alterIWnet MW2, clown? Sorry, forgot about my posts. Also, I was very busy, blah-blah-blah… No, clown uses usual MW2, not the AlterIW version. I have some more results, but… They're not real, you know. But, however, they confirm your TAR-21's and Mini-Uzi's ROF. I'll just update that post with ROF. And I can't understand, why do we, having the same framerate, get different results in our tests. That's maybe caused by my idiocy or by my retarded method I use. Edit: updated my post.

thank you,
strange that for some weapons we have almost identical results (M240, F2000) but a lot of differences as well ...
I'll double check weapons we have significantly different results ...

Yeah, that's stange. It maybe cause of my retarded computer: sometimes, in MW2, it shows not 91, but 88-90 (even 85) fps, but I don't think it's the main reason of differences. I've already tested all SMGs with the RF. I'll add the results to my post.

... we have identical % values but different ROF ... would it happen in-game online as well? LOL
edit:
updated machine pistols, if you do not mind I'll copy your calculations into the 1st post weapon by weapon for comparison ...

Wow, this is really weird. Some of your results are much different from mine, but the ACR, AK-47 and Vector are identical?
Could you maybe test some weapons in CoD4? Since we know the real fire rates from the weapon files, it could be interesting to compare.

ASAP means you should wait for a week or two (like for IW's patches). About ACR, Vector, and AK-47: I've also noticed they're identical to your numbers.

I can test MP5 ... framerate 91 ... MP5: 776 rpm, 30-round mag fired in 2,240 sec; in 2,230 sec. 1 bullet left not fired, cap: 780 rpm. ROF = 60 / (2,24 / (30-1) ) = 776 rpm ? well.. if we do not substract that 1 .. ROF = 60 / (2,24 / 30) = 803 rpm ... maybe we just use a bit different formula ...

Ok, thank you. Here are my test results for the machine pistols: PP2000: 20 rounds in 1,415 s: 806 rpm G18: 33 rounds in 1,725 s: 1113 rpm TMP: 15 rounds in 0,935 s: 898 rpm I am level 1 in COD4 ... again ... in priv only 3 primary weapons available .. nice .. Looks like 800 rpm is reduced to 776 rpm at 91 frames, which confirms the fire rate of the MP5 and L86 in MW3. My formula is: (magazine size minus 1 / time to empty the magazine) * 60

I tested COD4: M249 SAW:
908 rpm: 100 rounds in 6,540 sec. If 6,530 sec: only 99 rounds fired: cap 910 rpm.
looks like ROF of MW2: M240 ...
to test more COD4 weapons I'd have to level up a bit, I was level 55 many times but every Windows reinstal I start from the beginning ...

You can just download a savegame. Yes, M240 seems like a copy of the M249. The recoil is also identical.

Thread expanded to cover COD4 weapons as well, to have direct comparison ... if anyone interested. I installed COD4 last weekend again, level 20 at the moment so some weapons still unavailable for testing ....
LMG
M249 SAW: 908 rpm: 100 rounds in 6,540 sec. If 6,530 sec: only 99 rounds fired: cap 910 rpm. (the same as MW2 M240) RPD: 681 rpm: 100 rounds in 8,720 sec. If 8,710 sec: only 99 rounds fired: cap 682 rpm. (the same in MW2) M60E4: 545 rpm: 100 rounds in 10,900 sec. If 10,890 sec: only 99 rounds fired: cap 545,5 rpm.
SMG
MP5: 776 rpm, 30-round mag fired in 2,240 sec; in 2,230 sec. 1 bullet left not fired, cap: 780 rpm. AK-74u:
AR
AK-47: 679 rpm, 30-round mag fired in 2,560 sec; in 2,559 sec. 1 bullet left not fired, cap: 680 rpm. (the same in MW2) M4 Carbine: 776 rpm, 30-round mag fired in 2,240 sec; in 2,230 sec. 1 bullet left not fired, cap: 780 rpm. (the same in MW2)

wwa, I'm 100% sure that RF boosts RoF by 33.3% for every gun. The RF attachment reduces firetime (the time between each shot) by a flat 25% for all guns. That means that the gun's RoF is multiplied by 4/3, a 33.3% increase. This does not differ on any of the guns. Double Tap does the exact same thing in CoD4, it's just a Perk instead of an Attachment.

thanks, that is strange because every RF attachment I tested is different ... do you have any idea what is wrong? maybe framerate 91fps is too low? even if theoretically RF increases every gun's ROF by 1/3 it is not observable in-game ... at least not by me .. I checked MW3 weapons and every RF is different ... denkirson.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=4075

You can't be sure for MW2 because its weapon files are encrypted. It seems like Rapid Fire has a different effect on every weapon.

Have you checked if black ops rpm matches those on these forums? Just wondering.

I played BO 2-4 hours only ... game uninstalled since ages ...
If it is possible to use all weapons in priv I can install BO again and test ROF ... Any weapons in particular? I have no idea about BO weapons ....
edit:
no idea how could it happen, but ROF for COD4: AK-47 and M4 Carbine was wrong calculated, time to empty the mag is correct but ROF was wrong, I used 31-round mag in calculations ... , I am blind ... , error in Excel formula I suppose ... both have the same ROF as in MW2, the same times to empty the mag, post updated, sorry if someone confused..

Ok, this still leaves the question why you got the same rate of fire for the M4A1, MP5 and ACR... The M4A1 should be higher than the other two (857 RPM vs 800 RPM).
All fully automatic weapons in Black Ops fire either at 750 RPM or 938 RPM (except the M60 and CZ75, they fire at 536 RPM).

I'll test them again soon ...
Looking at Rapid Fire working differently on every gun I begin to doubt wheather MW3:Kick:proficiency works the same way for different weapons ...

I tried to find Barracks in Black Ops and failed, tried youtube and google search, no results, where I can find my total kills, deaths, headshots, wins, loses, etc in Black Ops multiplayer ? I have not played that fake game since 2 years or so, I am level 6 there ... is it unlocked later? where are my stats? I discovered that in priv I cannot use all weapons, great, I can test Enfield maybe, but where are BARRACKS, where is my score ?
Black Ops is the worst game I have ever installed on my PC.
edit:
// sorry, don't bother, I've just started to uninstall that crap.
// uninstall finished.

Barracks is replaced with Combat Record in Black Ops, which is unlocked at level 13.
