Someone in another thread said it varies by class. 30% penalty for ARs and LMGs, 85% for shotguns, 75% for SMGs
Maybe I'm reading wrong, but the way you word it, makes it sound like you're saying shotguns and smgs get a 85%and 75% range reduction with silencer. That would be huge.
I thought shotguns get their ranges reduced by 15% with silencer?. If so.. I'm guessing 25% reduction for smgs?

my opinion of the skorp is going downhill. its just soooooo [...] Not as balanced or polyvalent as the others for sure, but so gosh darn golly gee whiz powerful (and beautiful ) Personally I wouldn' t play it with rapid fire, I admit I haven't tried it on the Skorpion but you already have the most powerful weapon at close range (shotguns don't count ), I don't think it would make a huge difference. However your accuracy would take a big hit for sure, even if it's already pretty bad. That and the range drop if the guys above are correct. In fact, it specializes the gun even more, to a point where the cons are much more noticeable than the pros. I don't like the laser on SMG either, apparently the multiplier is something like 0.25 ~ 0.33 according to a Youtube video linked somewhere on this forum. That's pretty low, but still useful I guess, just not enough for my tastes. The barrel, grip and extended mag appear to be a better choice to me. At least theoretically, what are the values for the barrel ? Also I may have some doubts about the grip, I suspect the Skorpion to already have a good center speed, and if I'm correct the grip adds 100 for every weapon, making it pretty low in comparison. Hmm, I haven't thought about it but it may be a good weapon to put the silencer on.

SMGs always (not MW3) had less penalty from silencers, since their range was already small. And someone said somewhere else that shotguns have little penalty, so 15% makes sense.

That would be huge. I thought shotguns get their ranges reduced by 15% with silencer?. If so.. I'm guessing 25% reduction for smgs? Yes my bad. It's 15% reduc on shotties, 25% on SMGs. If they cant balance the attachment in a logical manner, it should be scrapped. RF reducing range; select fire reducing range... makes no sense. Recoil, ammo capacity... or something like that... makes more sense. Fully agree on this. It's not just the range reduction. It's the range reduction COMBINED with the hipfire penalty. Why 2 huge penalties for 1 benefit? It's also how much the range is reduced. If the MSMC's range is reduced from 46 to 40, that's sorta understandable. But if it's reduced from 46 to 20, that's just senseless. It's not a balanced attachment if it makes your weapon overall worse. On top of that, you have to give up 1 out of your 10 allocation points for it, and one of your attachment slots. If something costs the same amount of points as my primary weapon, it shouldn't cripple me. A more reasonable way to balance Rapid Fire would be decreasing center speed, making the gun harder to control. In real life, if you modified a weapon to fire faster than it was intended, it will jump all over the place. While the RoF reduction for full-auto on the Chicom and M8A1 makes sense, the SWAT's damage and range reduction do not. These kind of things really get under my skin with Treyarch. I'm glad they pay attention to the overpowered, but they usually don't give a sh*t about the underpowered. So the rapid fire values are done and they're...interesting. At the moment I'm debating with Corpse whether we should include suppressor range values. Suppressor+ Rapid Fire values are for another day. Is the suppressor range reduction a flat percentage across all guns in a class? Or does it vary between guns in the same class?

And then there's the variable called flinch, get gets thrown in the mix. Higher damage rounds and more rounds per minute cause more flinch, right? Definitely complicates things.. I thought damage doesn't matter for flinch In previous games ( if I'm not mistaking), the highest caliber weapons delivered the highest suppression (Flinch). The thing is that the highest caliber weapon usually also deliver the best damage (to be somewhat more realistic). In MW3, if, ofc, I'm not mistaking, the Flinch system was changed (I remember those Flinch threads). AFAIK, SCAR-H (yes, I'm mentioning this gun a lot) has a great Flinch abilities AND it does the highest damage among the auto-ARs. Yeah, and Toughness totally eliminates the Flinch, like Hardened Pro in BO. So if you're using it you can forget about Flinch.
[…] The barrel, grip and extended mag appear to be a better choice to me. At least theoretically, what are the values for the barrel ? […] Drift0r says it's +15% effective range for all the weapons it's available for.

I'm afraid I'm hijacking another thread with a (mostly) random side question, but where do you guys find patch notes for BO2? I did find the ones for yesterday's (or Friday's?) patch by googling, but I'd like to have a reliable source I can go back to whenever I want to check out a recent patch.

Anyone know how ext. mags works on the m1216? If it goes from 16 to 20, does it add an extra rotation or 1 extra shot to each rotation? Also any word on how many pellets in each shotgun?

Shame, would've been a lot more useful to have one in every rotation

Shame, would've been a lot more useful to have one in every rotation agreed. One extra rotation is not AT ALL worth it, considering what else you could get with that 1 point.

Are there numbers on weapon damage at range? From "shots to kill" we know they're between certain ranges, as well as min/max, but are there specific numbers out there? I'm attempting to put together some small charts of damage vs range as well as dps vs range. Those can then be color coded by shots to kill and time to kill respectively. Pistol damage, for example: These are shown with linear drop off, which I'm aware is not correct, that's what I'm hoping to fix. If anyone has this data or a link to it posted somewhere, I would greatly appreciate it if you shared it. <3 All credit for the data itself goes to Corpsreate and Pwnsweet, I just make mspaint charts
