My particular unfortunate brand of OCD requires me to unlock all attachments for all weapons as soon as a new COD comes out. I thought I'd get some of the worst ones out of the way on my first prestige.
The Xbow is the weapon of the samurai. In exchange for 1-hit kill potential, all it demands is flawless aim and serene acceptance of the inevitability of death. I run it with an SMG as a pocket sniper, and as long as my target is totally unaware of my presence I can often get a hit in. If I'm lucky enough to have cover, I might even survive long enough for the arrow to explode. I think I'm rocking a sweet 0.5 KDR with this baby.
The Executioner should be so lucky. It's primary feature seems to be the 4 second reload that prevents the user from making a tactical error, such as firing it at the enemy. My strategy with this weapon is to get four hitmarkers and a miss, then shuffle around uncomfortably while my opponent feels the buckshot tickling his neck, turns around, and blows me away. I've been running it exclusively on Highjacked. I don't use a primary, because if I had one there would never be any reason to pull this gun out.
Any tips to either speed up the leveling process or be less of a liability to my team while doing so? Also, are there any other terrible weapons I should get out of the way? Two I was worried about were the Swat-556 and the SVU, but they were both a cakewalk compared to these.

Alright. This is from experience on levelling up some of the worst....
executioner/Assault Shield Kills ->Touch Football (for non-bump kill challenges for the assault shield...do a core gamemode of your choice.
Ballistic Knife/Crossbow -> Sticks and Stones. Once you have both unlocked play alot of sticks and stones. Makes the job alot less painful.
Combat Knife -> Make a very knife dedicated class while you can. Stuns haven't been nerfed yet. This is the one you want to get out of the way as fast as possible. This one I actually had some very generous teammates for...and was the only one of these I didn't complete solo. They capped HQs while I ran around and stealthily got my bloodthirsty medals.

I'll definitely give Hardcore and Sticks and Stones a try. If I'm not mistaken, the Ballistic Knife, Combat Knife, and Assault Shield have no attachments, so I can spare myself that misery.

If you really want, just go play Combat Training > Objective. You can go for nothing but kills because your deaths don't count.
Only downside is no challenges.

Shield bashing will definately hurt your K/D. And your soul.
The executioner is so bad, you probably wouldn't be able to off yourself with it. Just wait till that one gets buffed I say
The crossbow on the other hand is an entirely usable and fun weapon, IMO. Just gotta get the projectile aiming down, which is not that hard

The crossbow is truly an amazing weapon in this game...and one of the only secondaries I consider using an attachment on. It becomes a shotgun when you use tribolt. With IR scope or VZ you become a sniping machine. Of course you always have to think to yourself...is it worth it using the crossbow + an attachment over overkill + x primary weapon? For cool points? Yeah. For anything else? Not usually.Either way the crossbow is just competitive enough to warrant me using it outside of "just for fun."
Once Theater mode starts working I have some good SnD Gameplay with an Assault Shield/Crossbow class picking off snipers....beating them at their own game.
Pistols are for classes that are weak in CQC.
The crossbow is for classes that are weak at range.
The Assault Shield should be treated as an equipment and not a weapon.

go with bourbon.
furthermore, headshots with exec. will make you lol. not the "that was sooo funny!" humorous lol that everyone's familiar with, but the "i don't even know anything anymore" psychotic lol.

Pretty much. I'm up to 30 headshots with it and I'm not even sure how many times I've been a foot away ADSed at the top of the enemies head only to get a normal kill followed by hip spray at their knees and get a headshot on the next kill. Crossbow seriously just do it in Sticks and Stones. And do the Ballistic knife there too if you want the camos for it.

a party game, where you can only your xbow, ballistic knife and tomahawk. it should be very easy to level it up there

Melee kills get you 5 points.
Ballistic knife fire kills and crossbow kills get you 10 points.
Tomahawking gives you 5 points and resets the victim's points to 0.
You also get a crapton of medals for playing sticks and stones so it becomes a very easy way to level up.

Full of people tired of SBMM. You can make your judgment based on that.
I stopped playing it because I finally diamonded my specials. It was a means to an end for me and I'm sure alot of people.

Shield bashing will definately hurt your K/D. And your soul.
Could not stress this enough.
I decided to max out my shield just to have that awesome emblem decor... but damn it all to hell if I never lost track of the times I've been knifed/sprayed through my fucking shield. Damn things' a PoS when it's not backed by an LMG nor Flak Jacket.
Still, Concussions were a Godsend through and through... thank God it's over now. ;_;

In combat training does weapon xp also transfer over to your multiplayer profile?

The nice thing about Sticks & Stones for me, is that I never rage. I don't get upset when I do poorly. It's a relaxing change. And also, Diamond specials.

Alright, I'm done with both.
Sticks and Stones was a great idea for Xbow. But what actually made a bigger difference was remembering the ADS delay. I didn't understand why my shots were so inaccurate until I remembered to stop-aim-fire. Reasonably fun to finish leveling this one, but I was glad when it was over.
The Executioner got significantly better once I unlocked Fast Cylinder. I used that with the laser sight exclusively on Highjacked. I didn't do terribly on average, but I'm sure glad it's over. Interestingly I found Touch Football to be much worse than Manly Core. In SC, the Executioner has many problems, but at least it has a single advantage, a one hit kill at short range. In HC, pretty much every gun can do that, so the Executioner really has no advantages. Basically even if I played well and kept engagements at my optimal range, every one was a 50/50. And beyond that range I literally could not touch my opponent. Never again!
