Oh boy, where do I even begin...
Custom loadouts first off do not belong in Halo under any circumstances. People are no longer on equal footing with custom loadouts. At least in Halo: Reach EVERYONE had the SAME EXACT 5 (or 4, can't remember the max) or less classes they had to choose from. The balance is atrocious; the DMR is a god gun, almost worthy of being a power weapon. The Boltshot is better than the Scattershot and Shotgun, and you can spawn with it! And that's not even mentioning the utterly UP weapons, or the ridiculous perks they decided to add.
The maps aren't bad per se (except Complex, that map sucks), but the universal complaint most people have are THEY'RE FUCKING GIGANTIC. The maps on the disc are a vast majority Big Team Battle maps; I think there are 2 maps that don't support vehicles? That's just plain ridiculous. And the Crimson Map Pack only adds more BTB maps. Unacceptable. Halo is an arena shooter, not Battlefield.
Vehicles are powerful? With the exception of the Ghost, they are all horrendously weak. The DMR literally shreds vehicles (including the Ghost). The Warthog is such a disgrace compared to its older brothers in past Halos. Banshee evasion maneuvers are way too slow, thus rendering it highly vulnerable.
The menus suck, agreed there.
Forge isn't bad, but the maps to forge on aren't big enough, and like you said the removal of precision editing! WTF!
JIP needs to GTFO. Let's just leave it at that. Netcode is horrible; I've never noticed host advantage being this good in Halo before. And the ridiculous bullet magnetism coupled with the lag makes this game really frustrating.
They can do away with this whole system for all I care. It was executed horribly, and it doesn't belong in Halo. I'll just save you the effort; DMR, Boltshot, Plasmas, Promethean Vision, Grenadier, and Explosives. You can thank me later.
Oh, mini spoiler alert perhaps, but the campaign is hella short and Spartan Ops is the same tedious, repetitive crap over and over again.
