"Black Ops II: player_meleeRange "55" "
explains a lot.

So they reduced melee range from BO by 24 centimetres? Lovely

Add in lag and knifing is pointless, I don't even bother anymore unless they are stationary

Marvel...
I seem to recall some trivial that you could knife faster in WaW if you were empty on ammo.
Is that wrong?

70 damage compared to MW2s' 50? No wonder the Assault Shield does so well with shotgun hitmarkers.

I gave up knifing and went back to drop shotting a while ago.

I like it. Knifing was always a bit silly to me, at least when i was putting bullets into someone. Put a couple bullets in a guy, no biggee, he'll just knife my kneecap and win the battle! UGH

Speaking of drop shotting, I've been doing this more often as I wind up close to someone. Normally this would be dumb in older CoDs, but people will just flat-out miss should they try knife you lol.

I still swear with the Tac Knife it feels like your lunge range gets increased. I did that stupid challenge yesterday and even compared to the Combat Knife it feels so much more Commando Pro-ey.

They nerfed it too much in bo2. 60 inches would've been better and dont get me started on how stupid it is in zombies

lol melee being too bad...
Sorry man, until they make it so its not 100% auto aim, then no matter how little range melee has, its OP.

Well when I press to fire my weapon, it doesnt magically lock on to a player, so that comparison is pretty redundant.

No, its not the right word. Lol. I actually googled it before I posted because it sounded wrong, and then I read the description wrong :[
And if you're within two feet of them, but looking 40 degrees away from them.. What, maybe... 1/100th of the hipfire spread is touching them?

Can you explain exactly what all these variables mean? Also, I miss 180 dropshot panicknifing from MW3

Can someone unpack the headings to each of the 5 right columns? What is the "time" vs the "delay"? Is this time between swipes and time from pressing the button to registering the hit, respectively? Also, what constitutes a "charge"? Is this when you're sprinting and you knife?

So let me get this straight.. WaW bayonette lock on range is better than Commando pro from mw2?

+1 for the meanings of the headings. I get the damage column, and the range statistics listed underneath the chart, but the chart headings themselves are difficult to understand

I'm assuming Charge refers to the lunge...

Uh... I just did, didn't I? I'm assuming "charge" references the lunge attack vs. the standard quick slash.

Okay that actually makes a little bit more sense then. In other words, the melee time is the animation time, melee delay is the delay before any other action can be performed (such as a follow up melee after a miss), and charge melee references those values, only using the lunge animation as opposed to the regular animation. That still leaves the final columns for melee charge range, which I'm assuming is the lunge distance (?). That still leaves me two questions though.
1. Why are there N/A values listed for games older than BO?? 2. Why do the values in this column differ from the values listed under the chart?

Judging by the selection of variables, it would seem that prior to Black Ops and Black Ops II, meleeChargeRange was referred to as "automeleerange" and so forth.
