Same reason they nerfed MSBS and supposedly nerfed Snipers, those who yell loudest at the devs wins. And the butthurt is strong in the CoD community

True, true. At least in this case I couldn't care less about the IED getting nerfed.
Disappointed this patch is just some competitive ruleset adjustments that 98% of players don't care about. :<

I wouldn't mind an IED nerf myself, honestly. At least with Claymores and Betties you had to put some thought into placement.

why would they nerf ieds when there are like fifty different counters to them already Sitrep is the only reliable counter. Blast Shield does not seem to work all of the time. Just like with Focus, I should not be forced to use a particular perk to stay alive. When there are 3 or more IEDs on the map at all times, there is simply no way to avoid them without SitRep. Ghosts is slow and boring enough as it is. A 25% blast radius reduction and 0.5 second increase in detonation time is needed. And the butthurt is strong in the CoD community Says the guy passive-aggressively responding to all my posts.

A 25% radius reduction and a 0.5 delay would make them useless. You'd have to be brain dead to be killed by it at that point.

Which is, quite frankly, not a stretch for randoms really.

A 25% blast radius reduction and 0.5 second increase in detonation time is needed. Ghost is slow and boring and I question your ability if you seriously think IEDs are OP, point-blank. I just played for two and half hours tonight and was only killed by three IEDs—no SitRep necessary, just reflexes and a modicum of common sense, i.e. don't sprint into corridors or stairwells where IEDs are typically placed, and if you happen across one in the open you're fine unless you insist on tromping right over it. You seem to be confusing "good perk" with "necessary to stay alive." Typical have-my-cake-and-eat-it-too CoD mentality. They should just release a Filthy Casuals edition of the next CoD where everyone has every perk, the only guns you are allowed to use are ARs and a token SMG-AR hybrid, and everyone is just always sprinting 100% of the time except for when shooting. Then everyone will be happy! That said if they nerf the IED right out of the game I won't shed a tear. I would like them to just go back to frag vs. semtex or maybe frag vs. semtex vs. C4 but only if C4's range was dick-length at best.

I'd have thought the creation of the Heavy Duty play list with only 130 health being the exemplar of catering for dipshits who can't buff their game? It's just an anti-sniper, anti-IED play list for people who can't react enough whilst taken damage from being shot. I thought people hated Juggernaut in COD4? It's nearly the same thing.
The only thing I can think of the IEDs is they appear not to be glowing with SitRep until a small delay after having fallen onto a surface. But then SitRep, and its predecessors, have only highlighted planted gear anyway.

Humorously no one plays Heavy Duty (only like 500~ people were playing last night on 360) because the most vocal whiners are a bunch of chronic malcontents on the Internet. Many players across all spectrums enjoy sniping and there's really nothing wrong with it.
That said I've come to like HD because it's fun to use MRs in and I love MRs because im gay

Yeah I pretty much only play HD for MRs. Otherwise it's boring.

at the moment 39 players on PC play HD ...
across Europe? looks like a nice ping.
... oh, 1 ... (one) player plays Blitz .... wow, shall I join him/her?
statistically HD is 39 x more popular than Blitz on PC!

Making stalker delay explosions like in previous games, would be nice. It wouldn't be a huge nerf to IED's.

That'd be stellar. 3 points for stalker is already worth it, but that would seal the deal.

PC got the patch yesterday (the 27th) cause we have Gun Game and/FFA Hunted. I didn't notice anything different about IEDs (I still get blown up) or Amplify, though I did notice that you no longer make noise while sliding with Dead Silence on. I can soundwhore just like I did pre-patch so if they changed something, it's insignificant.

There're already Gun Game and Hunted FFA on PC now. Never mind. :\ By the way: it was not said in a patch note, but camo challenges got reduced requirements (Point Blank, Rescue, and Lean challenges (all devided by 2; 40 Point Blank kills for LMGs) – thanks god).

An IED nerf bodes well in my book, as does Amplify. :3
Snipers are shit now, though. The ADS penalty all but helps traditional sniping -- or 'hardscoping'. Back to the SVU.

Party was always at SVU's house. Especially now that LYNX's house got busted.
I heard there's a new kid on the block though. Goes by Maverick. Hopefully his parties are as good as SVU's

So did they actually improve anything with cheat detection or not? Because I'm not even seeing cheating forums acknowledge anything has changed yet.

IED damage adjustment based on player stance and IED location (for damage reduction: jump over IEDs below you, go prone for overhead IEDs). That's a horrible "nerf" Just plain horrible. Horriblehorriblehorriblehorriblehorriblehorriblehorriblehorrible. Make stalker delay explosions = problem solved. The only good thing this does is make the victims in IED final kill cams look reetahded

Ceiling IEDs are going to be super popular now. Jumping is much faster than going prone.
Also, I'm assuming wall IEDs are included with pproning? Otherwise it's wall IEDs for days.

The second page of this thread contains malware, I don't know who linked it, but I can't open the page anymore due to some malware detection of google. Could the person responsible for posting a link/vid/pic please remove it so the thread is usable again?

Snipers are shit now, though. The ADS penalty all but helps traditional sniping -- or 'hardscoping'. Back to the SVU. Dead Silence didn't need buffing whatsoever. If people put more thought into map navigation rather than think by merely equipping Dead Silence gives them impunity to rush around the map, then the idiots using Dead Silence would see it's not weak at all. Well I guess the tears from "waaah campers" are going to be reduced. COD actually sucks at stealth judging by the the reduction of OHK areas when using a suppressor with a sniper rifle.

No—I completely and wholeheartedly agree with DS being completely silent to non-Amp users. That makes perfect sense.

No—I completely and wholeheartedly agree with DS being completely silent to non-Amp users. That makes perfect sense. People really need to put thought into why someone would put DS on a class. If its simply "make stuff quieter" then it doesnt have any purpose. When it makes you silent, then its suddenly "Oh, I can keep up momentum without having to slow down and account for footstep noise." its quality is explicitly tied to that reliability, because without that then you still have to slow down and break momentum when you actually wanna catch people off guard, and then its use goes from "huge mobility boost" to "maybe one kill a game." And how do defensive gun users defend themselves when they can't hear anyone nearby? Sure you can say "use your eyes" (amusing given the mini-map centric nature of COD anyway) but if you see some of the objective placements on some game modes, like Strikezone on Blitz, it's no wonder matches end up 16-14 etc because the lines of sight are about 10 yards to protect many objectives. A lot of people who use Dead Silence are bad at uprooting corner campers and cry a river when they're killed by them. Protip: don't keep trying to uproot them if you can't kill them. If it's anything like BO2 it means that sniper rifles, LMGs and perhaps marksman rifles using the default scope are gimped indirectly due to the movement speed associations. Nice hyperbole btw. How much have you played Ghosts at all and which game modes? I'm curious. I'll test this out soon.
