I read the devs are going to add aim assist when using a gamepad on the pc, if so do you peeps think its worth the trouble? I just cant play with mouse and keyboard. Maybe mouse, but moving with wasd keys, etc .. its just too much for me. Will people with kb+m still rape controller users? I dont know if this was already implemented in the beta, but if so, anyone can post their experiences with it?

I guess I will wait a week or so after game launch and read the feedback then. I really want to play this game, but dont want to throw $60 for an experience I wont enjoy 100%.

Just use the skill pistol and you'll be fine.

But you'll be styling all over everyone with the Wingman revolver.

I think if you get good at playing defensively and making yourself a difficult target that it should be playable if it's anything like CoD level aim assist. Though keep in mind that aim assist really only helps vs targets that are moving relative to you, (one or both of you are actually moving). My brother did some BLOPs 2 with me using a controller because he's more a console guy and his whole gaming setup is geared around sitting back in a comfy chair with a controller and a big TV rather than sitting at a desk. It was playble, but he did find it frustrating compared to the pwning he was doing on PS3. We only played a few games, though.
Have you tried rebinding keys? It seams like WASD is really geared towards a specific hand position and style of play. I personally dislike it, because I use homekey position for everything. It gives maximum access to keys and it's comfortable so I don't understand why I'd want to shift down a postion to use WASD. Even when I'm forced to use it I just use my pinkey, ring, and middle fingers rather than shift. Maybe at least try shifting over to ESDF or something totally different to see if there's something you can get comfortable with. Though it takes a bit of practice it's possible to adjust.
Hell I use pretty strange key bindings, personally. I started experimenting with binding back in HL1 days and found that I prefer WESD, which is E & D for forward and back, but strafing is W & S. I like because it's compact and only uses two fingers, each one in control of two mutually exclusive directions. I never need to go left and right at the same time so why use two fingers for those? Takes getting used to, but it actually wasn't that hard to train myself into considering W to be left and S right. I even use it in 2D games like Terraria. I'm not saying you'd like it. I'm an odd monkey. But it's an example of what is possible.
Hope you find something that works for you. I'm personally pretty eager to play Titanfall the way I have not been since MW2. Though sadly I don't think I can get it right away.

I felt like the thumbstick aiming in the Xbox One beta was significantly better than what COD give you. Aim assist felt pretty generous, and I have no doubt you'd be able to compete with most kb/m players. Of course the real master race of PC players because of this setup will be players who setup kb/m to emulate an Xbox controller's input to get that mouse + aim assist super-accuracy. Hopefully the team porting the Xbox 360 version are using the same input code as the PC version, in which case my XIM3 will have a new purpose in life.

Personally I don't think I would trade uncapped turn rate for aim assist. But then I'm more of a kb/m purist. I think I really only care for controller in racing or fighting games. My brother is planning to try playing Titanfall on PC with a controller so I hope it works out okay.

Where the fu-ck are valve's trackpads when you need them huh?! Hopefully they will make the difference and open pc gaming to all console players.

Apparently my bro is having a blast with TF on controller, so I'd say it's fine.
I'm very curious about those Valve controllers. Hope they live up to the potential. I'm still a little skeptical. They traded the touchscreen for buttons, which I'm okay with. Looking down to your controller for information is awkward and takes you out of the game. Unless it's something like a local co-op game where each player should have information secret from others such as picking plays in a sports game, or playing poker, ect, I don't really like it. I guess we'll see. I find the face buttons a bit awkward, though. I mean, there's 8 of them! But you have to take your thumbs off the trackpads to use them. I don't care for that.
Face buttons have become something of an awkward throwback ever since dual sticks was invented. That's the whole reason I learned how to claw grip an Xbox controller, but I don't think you could claw grip those valve controllers. I don't like it. I want buttons where I can actually use them, under my fingers. Oh well. I'll just stick with mouse & keyboard for now. I can claw grip my 360 pad and dual shock 2 so I'll get by.

Claw style on dual analog pads? ... wow thats crazy. I remember the fragx or something like that. It was a controller like the ps3 move but came with a mouse also. The thing was discontinued and never heard from again. I wondered why the device failed.
Anyways, I decided to not get titanfall. Spending AT LEAST $100 on the game with a wired xbox controller, or more expensive if I decide to go the mouse route with a ps3 move, wasnt in my plans at all. Im a FFA player also, so my fav mode wouldnt be there. I could do spending $60 and getting used to team based modes, but more than that it makes me think its not worth it ... for me. I already spent close to $200 on a new hori arcade stick with an extra korean stick in order to play ssf4ae and kofxiii, so I wont have that much time to play titanfall.

Yeah it's actually not that difficult to claw grip the 360 or dual shock 2 controllers and use my index finger (mostly 1st knuckle) for the face buttons. It made my fingers a little sore at first, but I got used to it. I'm a little more confy with it on 360 controller, but may be due to experience. I've played a hella lot more 360 and PS3. Changed the way I play CoD a little and I went back to standard button layout instead of... I think tactical. It was much more useful in Red Dead Redemption where I could gallop my horse and still aim and shoot. Almost OP in multiplayer riding around getting headshots.
