callofduty.wikia.com/wiki/User_blog:This_username_better_work/Call_of_Duty:_Ghosts_Devastation_Map_Pack_Preview Included in the new DLC are similar additions as with the Onslaught Pack, as well as some fresh features: Four new Maps: Behemoth - A small to medium sized map that takes place on an active earth escavator. Completing a field order allows the player to man a minigun whilist riding a helicopter that circles the map. Ruins - A meduim sized map that puts players into an ancient Mayan temple near an active volcano. Completing the field order causes the volcano to explode, raining molten rocks unto the field. Unearthed - A small sized map based off of MW3's Dome. Completing the field order here spawns three cryptids from Extinction that seek out players before exploding. Also included in this map is a hidden Venom-X from Extinction to use against the enemy team. Collision - A small to medium sized map where a freighter has collided with a bridge; combat takes place on the crashed boat, with one portion of it fairly intact and the opposite side being a lot more destroyed. The field order here allows players to pilot an A-10 for a short period of time. A new weapon -- the Ripper; a hybrid weapon that can swap from SMG and AR modes. Avaiable for Season Pass holders today (Xbox One and Xbox 360 owners first, other platforms to follow). Episode 2 of the Extinction saga -- Mayday. The squad of players is sent to a Chinese ship to rescure Dr. Cross from Archer. There are many new features in this episode; such as, a new species of cryptids that fire gas projectiles and can produce sentry-like pods, player chosen side paths that contain more weapons or collectibles, craftables for the Venom-X which modify how it works, and a giant Kraken to defeat.

Next thing you know they'll offer an alien as a doge replacement. :L

Next thing you know they'll offer an alien as a doge replacement. :L I wouldn't hate it. While the aliens from the field order really kills the realism of the MP, it's whatever mechanic-wise. It sounds like it's a mini Dog Swarm or RC-XD party, so I doubt it will do much. It's basically a similar mechanic to the Shock and Awe on Warhawk. Though I do hope this hidden weapon isn't super OP, or at least it's balanced with a respawn timer or is single use (i.e. you'd have to balance the spawn rates and locations of power weapons like they balanced rox/snips/shottie in the Halos).

I hope they put it in a room. And to get to that room you enter through a doorframe. And on the side of that room is a button. And that button closes that door. And when that door closes the pressure causes the player inside to decompress and explode.
And maybe rename the map to Pressure. Lawl

is it only my impression, but Rick Rubin's face seems very tired, ~too much drinking every day ?
/or maybe is he seriously ill and my remark is fully inappropriate?/

also this shit is straight up goofy in the third degree Yes, it is. IW has jumped the shark with this silly bullshit. It's like a parody of itself. I want nothing to do with it anymore.

Remember the reveal trailer where is showed that translucent player the person almost jumped on? I'm guessing that's what they were working in for this

Nope, I also noticed in the reveal for BO2 it showed what looked like the infrastructure for the building later used in the Zombie map Die Rise. Makes me Wonder if they just make all the DLC before release

Makes me Wonder if they just make all the DLC before release Yeah, I'm pretty sure they don't. Die Rise was in the first DLC, so it's possible they started working on it before launch, but instead scrapped it for the shipped version of the game to use as DLC. I never played it, or played the campaign, so it's also possible that they shared an asset from the campaign for the map. My guess is that they have sketched out ideas for most of the DLC before launch. They probably build more maps than go into the shipped version, and pull some ones that need more work or retooled out to be DLC.

Now this is pretty fucking cool. Makes me tempted to buy the Season Pass or at least this DLC.

If you're nearly invisible then why the fuck won't you stay put? You have an auto-tracking laser, too.

This just smacks of desperation on IW's part. It's embarrassing.
Every one of these supposed enticements just reinforces my decision not to buy any DLC.

How does this smack of desperation on IW's part? Because some people think COD is 'realistic' I might start up ghosts again tonight because of this. Have only been playing civilization and dungeon defenders since it were games for gold. In a game where knifes are stronger than bullets and you can shoot bullets out of your helmet, I can easily live with some futuristic element, as long as the gameplay benefits from it. And as I and allot of people really like the micheal meyer thing (almost always wins the map vote), I think there is absolutely nothing wrong with trying to make something comparable. Only thing I am afraid of is that it might be a little to strong...

Nothing panders to an audience more than a character from before most of them were born.

So is the entire notion of having challenges unlock trinkets, custom playercards, camoes; all pandering to a bunch of people who care more about that than actually playing the gametype at hand. Its the biggest console franchise and definitely the most casual oriented one. "Pandering" has been integral it its success since cod4. Mousey, you said yourself above that this shit is straight up goofy in the nth degree. You're right, gold camo is pandering a bit. The Predator is pandering to the extreme. And to the kiddies primarily. Two years ago if someone had told me IW would introduce Michael Myers, the Predator, Snoop Dogg customizations, etc, etc. I would have thought they were a lunatic. But now here we are. It's simple really. The franchise is dying, and Activision has stopped pretending to have any real respect for it, and is just trying to milk out every single dollar before they pull the plug.

I love how a game is immediately 'dying' when it goes past the peak. Unless CoD 11 just flat out does worse than CoD4 it still has several years left and is a natural progression. Bitch about Activision milking it all you want but they're just smart enough to cash in on something no one can control.

It's simple really. The franchise is dying, and Activision has stopped pretending to have any real respect for it, and is just trying to milk out every single dollar before they pull the plug. It's already been covered, I'll just add that 21 million units sold isn't exactly dying. As for them "trying to milk out every single dollar", that is correct. That is what they are doing. That is what every publisher is doing, because they are publicly traded companies, which exist for the single goal of making as much money as possible. Understand that is their goal and has been from before the very first time you picked up a COD game. For them to do anything else would be negligent. As for the gaming experience being ruined, you're complaining about (A) micro-dlc that in no way impacts the gameplay and does not affect you if you do not purchase it, and (B) reskinned killstreaks.
