So... I had a hell of a time punching an enemy TItan off the edge of a map earlier today, but I was in an Atlas and I didn't have Big Punch. I got to wondering... what else will help, aside from Big Punch? If I punch while I am dashing, does it make a difference? I have noticed that if my opponent is dashing away from me as I punch, he will go FLYING (although I am not sure if he has to be dashing AWAY from me, or if it is simply that I hit them while they are in the 'dashing' state. Which is it?). I remember that the different Titans have different values for punch damage and knockback, but what exactly does the 850 mean for the Stryder? Does it mean that it has the most knockback (and is therefore the best for sending enemies FLYING INTO OBLIVION ? IIRC Big Punch has a 1.25x multiplier to pushback and a 1.7x multiplier to damage. Is there anything else?

Is there anything else? To be honest, I have no idea. That stuff would be very easy to test but Respawn says no-go on private matches (cuz they silly) so we may never know. A melee hit probably just adds velocity (possibly the knockback number) to the target in the direction of the punch. Simple physics dictate that if they're dashing towards you, they barely get moved backwards, if at all, and if they're dashing backwards they get a bunch of added speed from the punch.

Respawns's not being silly... The game is built to use the MS Azure dedis to control the AI and is supposedly doing a ton of computing to handle the AI which normally can't be done by a client. Why would they waste money paying for server time for people's petty private matches? Respawn can't just flip a switch and turn on private matches, they would either have to work out a deal on who's going to pay for the server time for those private matches or boil down the game so that a player can host it.

I'm pretty sure Zampella said that private matches are coming soon. I assume they'll still be hosted in the cloud. I don't know that it wouldn't be covered under whatever arrangement they already have in place with Microsoft but ultimately I don't think it's a big deal. I doubt that private matches are going to be even one percent of the total games being played.

I don't think it's a big deal for them to host it. As in... it's not going to be a financial burden...
