How does any of the DLC make things less realistic? Because nostalgia kicked in to an era of terrorism and nukes in the middle east...back when CoD4 was super realistic and 100% possible...pfft.

It is realistic... you didn't know snoop dogg was a lt. Commander for the US army back in the 90s?

They're equipped with space cat camo Rippers, of course. R. Lee is back at C&C coordinating Operation D-O-doublegizzle in the Hizzle. They are Spetsnaz greatest fear. When Putin sleeps at night, he is haunted by images of rubber duckies. You went full retard, IW. Never go full retard.

Yup, indeed my utmost favourite thing about this.

So you're bothered by the lack of realism by having the option to hear Snoop Dogg, but not bothered at all by the fact that everyone speaks English, no matter what their nationality? You draw the line not at Red or Blue Tiger camo (have you seen the blue tiger? Such a majestic creature.), not at Gold camo, not at Diamond camo (all of the light refracting will help me blend in!), but at Space Cats? You draw the line not at someone running around in a mask and knifing enemies, but at someone running around in a different mask and hitting enemies with a hatchet?

To be fair there's no such thing as a green and brown tiger either, which is what the original Tigerstripe camo as used in Vietnam was colored.

To be fair, that actually camouflaged, as opposed to having the exact opposite effect.

It's pretty cool to be able to use a laptop for hitting up a cataclysmic orbital satellite from the heavens, too.

The ability to take a few bullets and be completely fine if you stay behind cover for 5 seconds. The ability to not lose ammo when you throw away half-full mags. Trained snipers can only hold their breath for 4 seconds. It should be fairly obvious that CoD is not a realistic game (and I think that it makes the games more fun).

Sorry..... if you're a gamer and you play COD and you expect a higher degree of realism than normal.... you're the one that went full retard. Yes, COD has gotten sillier, but if you can't suspend this much disbelief... put down the control and enlist in your respective country's national armed forced.

Has it? I mean, look at some killstreaks from previous games - dogs chasing you, remote control cars and helicopters.

Of course not. I don't think it's out of line for someone to be upset by it, though. There has to be some inherent suspension of disbelief in any video game. If you can't do that, then you shouldn't play the game

You can only go so far before you have completely lost the spirit of the game. I believe IW has gone that far and then some.
You all can drop all your straw man arguments that I'm insisting on preserving a hyperrealism that never really existed.
"If you don't like Snoop, then you accept nothing less than hyperrealism." Bullshit.

Bullshit. That's a fair enough sentiment. Personally, I'm not all that bothered by any lack of realism in the DLC. I think the voice packs are a great idea, I don't know that I'll get any of them, but in no way do they lessen the realism for anyone that doesn't purchase it. As for the killstreaks, I can't speak for the Predator, but Michael Myers at least spices up what is otherwise a pretty bland map.

BTW, I'm really surprised there hasn't been knife micro-dlc yet. They clearly have at least the hatchet animation - I would pay a buck or two to be able to run around with that instead of the combat knife. Maybe they're waiting to do a TMNT weapon dlc to cross-promote?

Remember guys, there is a tremendous difference between believable and realistic, in the sense of entertainment like movies, video games and... things.

True, but CoD games were never even really believable. Nukes going off with no repercussions, shooting up airports, INVADING EUROPE ON A FALSE FLAG? And Treyarch had magic zombies, brainwashing and a whole bunch of other bullshit. CoD is the Michael Bay of Video Games
Also before bbbbut multiplayer. Russian soldiers vs US soldiers is never going to happen and Russia hasn't used the AK47 for decades. Hell even the AN94 and XM8 in BO2 were both cancelled before development on the game started

I just take a if you don't want it don't buy it attitude towards these kinds of things. They don't effect gameplay and are not required for anything other then what your getting. Money grabbing, certainly, but at least no harm comes to those who don't want it.
I vote for mortal kombat announcer.

I don't think it's out of line to say that those can definitely be within someone's suspension of disbelief compared to michael myers or space cats. It's not so much a matter of actually being realistic as far as breaking the theme of the game. TF2 went through this as well with cosmetics: One can hardly say TF2 really established itself as a serious game, but it did have a clear theme that was smudged more and more as the cosmetics got more ridiculous (not to mention making silhouettes more confusing, though that doesn't really apply to cod). As with cod, yeah it's basically a military action movie. Is messing with the overall theme of the game going to ruin it? Of course not. I don't think it's out of line for someone to be upset by it, though. No tinfoil hat? Come on now

Bullshit. spirit of the game? What spirit? Please. Any 'spirit' was lost when they allowed dead players to come back to life to drop C4 years ago, aka, 'Gay Man's Hand'. If CoD can survive that garbage, having a cameo voice-over ( that only the player can hear) isn't going to hurt anything, or even remotely wreck any spirit. And the same goes for the alien or Micheal Myer's thing. What's the difference between Micheal Myers and a 36mph moving 8' tall beast of a man in a bullet proof Jugg suit that kills people with one knife swing? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. btw, Snoop Dog is hilarious. It made me laugh and I can turn it on or off whenever I like. Having a bit a laughter in the game, bringing some fun to it, is never a bad thing. People need to remember it's a game. There is no spirit here. It's not a real life military shooter, never will be.

Bullshit. I understand what you are saying, even though I don't think it is a very big issue here at least. If they released microtransitions in, for example, The Last of Us, that gave everybody in the campaign alien heads or whatever, I see how it would break the spirit of the game. However, I don't think these will harm the game any, at least not anymore then it already has after seeing that awful avenged 7 folded credit scene in BO2.

Yes, controlling killstreaks like Ospreys and Reapers remotely with an iPad is silly. If people want vehicular combat then they should have a combined arms play list or play Battlefield.

They should have a Tatooine map with the field order being a death star version of the loki. And sends down stormtroopers instead of juggernauts.
Million dollar idea here, folks.

IW tries new things, some of which are silly types of 'fun'......people whine that the 'spirit' of the game is being lost.
IW doesn't do the above, ....and equal amount of other people whine that the game is 'stagnant & boring'
Have to love whining people.
