Antiques has two entrances. Slackjaw has two entrances. Bakery has two entrances, but one of them requires Infected type shenanigans to access (jump from tank to hardware store to theater). The real problem with Warhawk is the location of B. Ghosts maps are fine. It's like you guys never played CoD 4 or WaW. Those maps are big even with thirty or more players; I have no idea how they played on consoles with only 12 men. CoD4 was all about spawn trapping and W@W was all about sniping and tanks. You didn't have to move in those games as much. And they're still not as large as Stonehaven.

But you are missing the point I am making. Those aren't really quality entrances you are referring too, coming in via the front, right into fire? As well as using the tank plus truck on the other side, ...ridiculously easy to get shot as that's out in the open. Anyways, the point wasn't so much HOW to get people out of those rooms. The point being missed is people flocked to them like magnets, which then created bad gameplay. Take a game like KC. Games often just devolved into a lame 'room hunt' type of game, extracting people from each location. Boring. Ghosts is a different game than WaW. And most of WaW's larger maps like Seelow, had tanks in them in case you forgot. So even with the 6v6, the presence of tanks sort of acted as magnet to attract players together for encounters. Kind of like how Minions pull people together in TF.

I don't like upper bakery, but Slackjaw and antiques are fine. If people are really abusing any of these, switch to an explosives class or coordinate with your team for easy kills.
I did forget about the tanks and for good reason. Fuck the tanks.

There's also something that maps on CoD4 and W@W had that several maps on Ghosts didn't have. Map flow. Seelow is a huge map, and 99% of fights occurred on or by the bridge in the very middle of the map, at least in TDM, didn't play W@W in its heyday. Almost every map had a central point where everybody would congregate. Stonehaven will have fights break out in and around the castle, but then also in village, and also in the ruins, and the middle of the map. It doesn't have a good flow to the action. Same thing with Warhawk as IW is saying, people congregate towards the several buildings and just sit there as long as they can with much more stationary protection than any previous CoD, besides MW2 with lethals being replenished by scavenger.

I did forget about the tanks and for good reason. Foxtrot the tanks. You still are kind of missing the point. Eight years of CoD playing has given me adequate enough skills that rooting people out of 2nd floor rooms is not that terrible difficult. Just about anyone can say that. The point is that garbage maps like WarHawk have bad gameplay. 'Game Flow' as Mousey put it right above. I want to play a good game of Domination. Not play 'Root out the Ahole'. And it's the same for all the modes (Dom, KC, Etc...). It's not fun playing blowout garbage games where all other opponents do is burrow into 2nd floor rooms with IED's and such.

Conflicting statements on what constitutes 'flow'. I disagree with this idea as I'm a rusher; I create my own flow. With Warhawk and other maps like it, where teams gravitate towards certain maps features (ex. the sawmill in Whiteout is also pretty terrible), I learn where the enemy team likes to be and respond accordingly. If the enemy is doing the exact same thing the entire game and you cannot dominate them, the fault is your own. In TDM, tactical loitering upper bakery is annoying, but can simply be avoided. The whole team isn't going up there. Locations like this exist in most maps, and not just in Ghosts. In Dom, upper bakery has little strategic importance as B has tons of sight lines besides it and it lacks direct sight over A. iw, I know you're a beast at Dom and you know this, but if the enemy is tactical loitering without having trapped you, you're looking at an easy triple cap. The only problems I have Ghosts maps are B on a few maps: Warhawk, Octane, and Freight. But that's it.

Again, lol the point isn't an easy triple cap. The point is the game sucks when it becomes a 200-10 game. Maybe great while in a clan war, but otherwise, the gameplay gets boring.
As far as flow.... you are right, you can 'create' your own flow, but imho, i think any KC/Dom/etc.. game mode has crappy flow when all you do is rush from 2nd floor hiding spot to 2nd floor hiding spot, rooting out opponents. I just don't think that's good CoD gameplay. I think we are talking two different things. Disagreeing on what 'flow' is? idk
I raised this point in regards to the map issue with Ghosts. IW screwed up with Ghosts, releasing bad maps for the older consoles. And also created what i felt were some badly designed maps, like Warhawk. Obviously, you disagree. That's what makes this board interesting.

AFAIR Warhawk DOM games were v good. Straight nice old-school map.
Maps and spawns in Ghosts are v good vs the whole series.
The problem is the number of effective toys decreased, challenges evaporated, and gameplay became flat, boring, etc...

I just don't think that's good CoD gameplay. I think we are talking two different things. Disagreeing on what 'flow' is? idk We're definitely talking over each other regarding flow. I would regard 'flow' as consistently completing activities over time, like obtaining a kill. When that flow is disrupted because I can't find anyone on the map and/or the objectives are already capture, there are stretches of non-activity that are boring. I haven't had any problem with this in Ghosts. If you can't find people consistently, that's a failing on your part to control the map or anticipate your enemies. Even on the larger maps like Whiteout, the hotspots are well defined and you should know where players will go a few minutes into the map, particularly in objective modes. That said, I agree that absolute annihilation in Dom is not fun. Whereas a huge lead in TDM/KC can be fun since you racking up tons of kills, a 200-0 can have a lot of non-activity as your whole team devolves into searching for spawning enemies all over the map. However, triple caps result naturally when the other team doesn't want to play Domination which is exactly the behavior you're describing with players tactical loitering certain areas with low strategic importance. Overall, I like Ghosts' maps, even Stonehaven. On Stonehaven, I can determine where the enemy is and then respond accordingly to keep my SPM high. I believe only Freefall is subpar.

Well, it's not about finding people consistently. Opponents can be find, one way or another. The original/main question was whether one could consistently find opponents at the same level as say BO2. I don't think you can. The little bit of extra size on the maps, plus the lack of GW, makes it less.

The maps post BLOPS 1 have been terrible. God awful. When they get back to making maps like they used to and a connection that works properly we can chat again. Gimmicks and killstreaks and unlock / perk systems are all secondary bullshit. Make good maps and the game work properly = solution.

Spawn trapping kind of disappeared in BO2, at least in Dom. As soon as you got an opponent pushed back, ...trapped, everyone just bumrushed the flag to get the +200 cap points. Reset back up, rinse, and repeat. Trapping was still the best way to play against a good opponent (why let them out if you had them trapped), but against most opponents, it was a triple cap, max-out your kill streaks type of game. I spent the vast majority of my non-HC SND time in HC KC. If I joined in the middle of a match against a very tryhard team the spawn trapping was BRUTAL. If I was in the match from the beginning I could either frustrate them for the first few minutes before things went to shit or actually carry my team to a close match.

There's nothing I want more than to pay sixty dollars for a game I already own. Sorta. I've bought COD4 at least twice. I'd buy it again if they fixed the hacks. That in itself would boost the player base. It would go up even more if they next-gen'd it. I would hope that it would cost about $29 though, then added some more DLC.

Thats like a third of the fuc king perks. You can tailor any cod however you want with that many changes. CoD4's perks were silly. Eavesdrop anyone? Besides, the maps and guns are what made the game. Oh and add more attachments and the ability to use more than one. And nerf the helicopter or make it a higher killstreak or add more launchers. I don't know why they wouldn't do a re-release like this. It would be so easy compared to making a whole new game and people would nostaljizz all the money. Plus Infinity Ward no longer has things like "talent" or "passion" or "intelligence" so this is the only thing they could maybe not totally fuck up.

Dude CoD4 with spawn tube protection, slight spawn point adjustments, new perk/equipment system (no SP, Jugg, Martyrdom, Last Stand, Claymore/C4/RPG x2, etc.) and nerfed frags would be sick. CoD4 is the only CoD where Stopping Power and Juggernaut didn't completely ruin the game. World at War had the MP40/Juggernaut combo, so Jugg was the better perk. MW2 got literally nothing right in terms of balance; one of the biggest of the game's issues was having only Stopping Power available with no counter. On fixing past games, CoD4 has the least amount of problems, but the list of fixes is still huge: - Remove Martyrdom - Remove Last Stand - Remove Eavesdrop - Move Sleight of Hand into the Tier 3 Perk category - Remove Sonic Boom and replace it with the following perk: Blast Shield - Reduced explosive damage and immunity to Flash and Stun grenades. - As a result of the change above, edit Juggernaut to only reduce bullet damage - Ctrl+C Ctrl+V the grenade damage and blast radius from World at War into CoD4 - M16 damage reduced to 35-25 - Range decrease for MP5 - Recoil increase for AK-74u - Remove M40 ACOG glitch - Dedicated servers
