I think they tried to sneak the biggest issue in the middle there, hoping no-one would notice! They forgot to give weapons recoil. I think recoil is okay, although a little more wouldn't hurt; grip works too well, and everyone is using it after Drift0r made a video about it. BOII grip was about right, because it didn't do anything.

They're used to cover up the intended weakness of the gun resulting in guns that are all the same in most areas. And on top of that you can have 3, which further morphs them together. Good 3HK range on the HBRa3 but too much recoil in the 4HK range? Throw on Foregrip. MP11 has a high RoF and burns thru bullets? Throw on Extended Mags. Now you have a higher RPM ASM1. Interesingly SHG recognizes this to a certain degree as can be seen in some of the balancing of the weapon variants. Then other things seem random like no Dual Mags on the Bal-27. But again, since we're allowed 3 attachments most if not all deficiencies can be covered up.

If all weapons have the same number of weaknesses and the attachments to fix them, and that actually results in weapons with similar characteristics, then the opportunity costs are also equivalent across weapons. Having to use a grip instead of extended mags still has the same cost. They would only be differentiated if they have more or fewer weaknesses, thus having higher or lower opportunity cost to bring them to parity with other weapons. Of course, having only a single variable "opportunity cost" differentiate weapons is boring and unbalanced. Clearly one would gravitate to the lowest cost weapon and have no reason to use the others.
I don't know if I buy it that you can really homogenize all the weapons in two or three attachments. Although I suppose even attempting to do so does cost you something. I guess that's you're point. But does anybody really run weapons with no attachments on purpose just for the points? Surely you want at least one attachment on nearly any weapon.

center of crosshairs on all SR is, well, on purpose or not but strange, it is shifted vs geometrical center of monitor, after "hold breath" ofc.
LYNX centers up-right MORS centers up-left (ADS time approx. 0.35 sec) NA45 centers just a bit down ATLAS centers slightly up-left

I can't say I disagree with much of what you said because it comes down to personal preference. I like it when things stay in their lane. It's not just in-weapon class attachments. I'm one of those guys who doesn't like that Stock/Quickdraw/Laser/Agility is available on ARs cuz it infringes on the SMG's already small spectrum. But another school of thought is why restrict it, they have to pay for it with a point, etc. But I'm not a purist, Stock is on all my AR classes, lol.

As much as I dislike Bloodthirsties, it's a hell of a lot more preferential compared to fucking Triple Kills in this game. I got your point and like it, but Bloodthirsties required a lot of tactical loitering or "passive play", while tripple kills require a lot of luck ... (you cannot camp to get a tripple kill = tripple kills chllng done means you used this gun "a lot" statistically ) Bloodthirsties were a completely stupid idea (gamebreaking), although I had handguns diamond, and it was a lot of fun and adrenaline sometimes. But my fun was paid by my team in BO2. A little difference. Tripple kills just ... happen.

Patch still not up on XB1. I played like crazy today to unlock gold and carbon fibre on every assault rifle and SMG. Hopefully they let me keep them

Same here, just as I got a Bloodthirsty medal as well. Hadn't happened before the patch. Had a real mixed bag of games before that, some great with perfect networking and working guns, and then some with terrible pings, guns that wouldn't work and death round every corner almost before I saw them...
Love the game when it's working and I feel I die because I made a mistake, hate it when the networking becomes noticeable...

Patch is now live on Xbox One. Wow, I got to keep my Carbon Fibre and Gold on every gun that I unlocked them for! The ones that I didn't finish getting the 50 kills for, well they now say 34/200 kills :/
Wish I did them all...

Yeah. It's going to be a real struggle getting 150/200 no attachment/no perk challenges for the bulldog.
For anyone else trying to grind royalty camo for shotguns I've noticed it's easier than normal to force dogfight kills in uplink since everyone is trying to get to the other side as fast as possible.

Edit: Holy crap, first two rounds were actually lag free. Though there was a crazy bug where there was this one dude with a silenced gun, and anytime he fired anywhere on the map, I'd hear it as if I were the one shooting. Really distracting.
Edit again: Played for almost 3 hours on the new patch, connection felt very good. Even solid in a brief ground war stint. Hit detection like this was not happening for me at all pre-patch:
