Iirc 3arc gave actual numbers in its patch notes...but not when the game came out?
I don't really see what Sledge gets from people not knowing the gun stats. It's not like it somehow creates weapon diversity. People are going to use the same gun everyone else uses regardless of if they know the official weapon specs
*shrugs*

It's a conspiracy to get us all to buy the strategy guide.

Its kinda meaningless. And cod is the only game that really goes to such lengths to hide it all. I guess because it stifles variety when more people know? If you ask people what the best gun in most cods is, it doesnt settle for a few weeks (not always the case) and at least theres some variety in answers even then I guess. What's really baffling is that the actual numbers from the code never match up with the bars we are all used to seeing in-game. It's nonsensical.

I kinda would like they have the weapon stats in-game or by patch notes as standard. It's not critical information but it might help decide on unlocks and might help others make informed decisions on what to use. I forget how many times I picked up an SMG in BO2 with the grip and FMJ attachments and that is no doubt due to the dubious bar information the game uses.

FMJ does in fact increase damage (under certain circumstances).

weapon stats are meaningless. OK. yeah more or less. Look at any game that has the stats public. it doesnt suddenly make people good. It just makes it easier to determine weapon choices. Also, compared to any non-MoMi shooter, CoD has very little weapon variety overall (shit like 5% movement speed or 20 ms between shots would mean absolutely nothing in most games). On top of that, CoD is a game where a LOT of the control over the game is taken away from the player. the outcome of a lot of fights comes down to whoever shoots first, or catching someone off guard. The indivdual TTKs or ADS times come into play all the time, but they only affect the outcome of an engagement within pretty explicit time intervals. Is it nice to have the stats? Sure, obviously, but its hardly the biggest factor in what makes a good player. No, it doesn't make a player good, but I don't think anyone goes looking up the stats thinking it will make them a better player. It just helps you choose a weapon that suits your playstyle best, and helps you use a particular weapon to its maximum potential. When you know that weapon A can kill in X number of bullets out to range Y, you will try to control your engagements accordingly. For me, I've gotten pretty good at guessing range, and in the middle of a gun fight it's nice to know that if I've already landed 3 shots, I only need to land 1 more instead of 2. That may just influence my decision to either duck behind cover or finish the gunfight.

I think most people who want data are just looking for which weapons are best in class. But in this game it's so obvious that BAL > everything else by a mile so the rest is fairly pointless. Unless you want the real nitty gritty data.

^ so AK12 > BAL > everything else by a mile except AK12 ? : ) AK12 is basically the BO2 M27, I don't get why people think it's so great.

People freak out too much about the BAL. It's very very slightly overpowered, but it's just so common that that slight boost of power gives off the placebo effect.

It's actually pretty balanced at medium/long range when compared to the other ARs. The imbalance comes from it being also the best hipfire SMG in the game.
