Dat Comback. Feels like a cod4 map. Love this map. Comeback is easily my favourite map. Like you, I definitely get that CoD4 vibe from it. I'm also a big fan of Solar, Retreat, and Bio Lab. I honestly don't hate any maps the way I did Stonehaven, Turbine, Siege, Aftermath, etc. and rather like all of the AW maps.

I haven't played this game enough to have strong opinions on any maps. So far I am fine with all of them, I just wish that they have made the map a little bit bigger to give spawn system more room to maneuver.

This ^
None of them stand out to me as of yet and they all seem a tad small for TDM. I did play one match of momentum and I think the spawns were a bit more stable. I'll have to try it some more. I haven't been able to play until about midnight, though, and it's pretty frustrating trying to play with the midnight tryhard crowd. I need to roll with some bros for backup until I get this game figured out.

Atlas Gorge is fun too by the way, but it is a super try*hard playlist as of right now.

Unbelivable good maps, none disliked, it never happened before as every CoD:MP before had at least 2 "disliked" or a bit "sniper oriented" ...
Wheather maps could be bigger - I do not think I could even argue, having in mind Siege/Overlord or Village/Outpost or Storm/Derail or Creek/Countdown or other a bit "too big maps", where some elements could be removed or shrinked and it wud be a lot "better".

I wouldn't mind having some of the bigger MW2 maps, though I think they were mostly unpopular. The only one I hated was Wasteland. CB was mandatory on that map and even with it if you died once while a chopper gunner was up you may as well put the controller down until the KS ends as the splash damage from all the spawn killing will get you. I also just generally didn't like the design. I always found myself on the opposite side of the hedge from where the action was and by the time I could get around it everything was on the other side. The only way to keep from just being bored was to go for the clusterfuck going on in the tunnel and zerg rush it with nearly everybody else.

I'm not exactly sure how someone thought it was a good idea to make the maps smaller while making players move faster.
...Vonderhaar said Marathon was excluded from BO2 since it could mess up the spawns. Well, he was spot on. (For once.)

Infinite sprint, small maps with long lines of sight, tons of vertical movement with boosts. I hate all of the maps.

The current state of the spawns has made it so I am not having anywhere near the level of fun I have had playing MW3. Joy of flanking has been removed.
That said, Detroit is alright. Again it is too bad the enemy spawn flips to the other side of the map faster than you can flank along the outskirts.

I like a lot of the maps, Comeback stands out along with Riot & Terrace. Surprisingly some of my best rushing games have happened on Instinct.

The only way to keep from just being bored was to go for the clusterFoxtrot going on in the tunnel and zerg rush it with nearly everybody else. I always had a blast on Wasteland. For the most part, I just ran around with a Thermal Stopping Power RPD, and I was good to go. Went back to playing the game a few months ago, and since it was overrun with hackers OMA folks and Commando Marathon knifers, I started using my Danger Close RPG and tube classes more often. On that map, I would just run outside the tunnels, chuck my grenades, shoot off my RPGs, then launch my two remaining underbarrel grenades. So many hilarious doubles and triples. Best final kills ever.

People like Comeback? It's just people tactical loitering on rooftops for 10 minutes. That and Solar are the only two I can't stand.
The rest are actually really good.

It is a blast on dom or ground war to me. TDM is a little slower. It caters to various play styles for sure. I will agree with you on solar not being one of my favorites. That is probably due to spawns being a factor. As for wasteland, I would trade the last 4 games to be able to relive some of the ground war glory days on that map.

I have a suggestion:
when stating your favorite maps, prelude it with what game modes you play the most.
A great map for one game mode can be horrible for another.

Then there are maps like Ghosts Freight that are great for any mode.

MW3 was great. Ghosts was great, too. Bite me. So many of my friends hated that game, but I had a blast with my Thermal L86. Practically every map was fun to me, and I really liked the weapons, streaks, and perks. Sure, dual FMG's were annoying at times, but they were easily dispatched from mid to long range. Maybe I'm weird. I did hate Ghosts, though. =P

Ghosts is not a bad game, it is just... boring after a while. Also, Titanfall pretty much destroyed any interest of mine of playing Ghosts. Light and day difference in a) game pace, b) lag free smoothness, c) cam p-free experience, and d) awesomeness (what?! no giant robot?!) MW2 is my first CoD (only through the first prestige) and MW3 is my first seriously played CoD, so they will always have a special place in my memory. Starting BO2 I usually lost interest by the time the 2nd DLC came out. For AW, like iw5000 I'll play it slow so I don't lose interests as quickly.

Wasteland really was a mess at time though. It was based on a cod2 map, so the original design was not with killstreaks in mind. Stinger class would do the job, chopper down, ac130 down, good map to take shit down (clear sky) - of course if your team sucks completely it is a drama, but it is a drama on any map if your team sucks so I 'd not blame Wasteland too much : )

W@W was my first CoD. I liked it a lot at first then slowly grew to resent the game somewhat. Good game, but some design aspects I really hated... like goddamn guardogs!
Then came MW2 and to me it was like the holy grail of multiplayer console shooters. I loved it! Not perfect, but it was great fun and most of the weapons were fun and usable as well as having something of their own niche. There were even some subtle differences in the otherwise nearly identical FAMAS and M16 burst rifles. I think the F2000 was the only weapon everyone completely agreed was total garbage, yet even that could be fun to use for the lulz.
BO1 is like Clinton for me. At the time I wasn't a big fan of it and took ages to get into it, but in retrospect I really liked it. (Though I'm not a fan of the change in map style and the copy/paste weapon stats.)
Barely touched MW3.
Played BO2 slightly more than MW3, but it seemed like a pretty cool guy.
Only tried Ghosts on PC which was assnuggets for performance so never looked back.
AW = Fun so far, some issues with map size/spawn logic.

And since I wasn't in a clan and didn't have a lot of friends on I was usually solo. I pretty much ALWAYS ran with stingers in MW2 because I wasn't a fan of secondary weapons in general (especially pistols). But it was often not enough. Really the KSing was only half my beef with it. I didn't like being forced to zerg the tunnel or be bored. Skirting the outside of the map never worked for me. You get a couple kills then spend five minutes hunting the spawns. Finally you get tired of being sneaky and cautions and never catching up so you try to sprint to catch up to the action and get sniped. Then you spend a couple minutes being spawn camped by killstreaks and repeat.
