I was joking with my clan bro Aroc, about some of my frustrating deaths over the past three days of this current clan war. The war is going great (421-34 blowout win so far). My ugly deaths in this game? Not so well. I said i would upload all the clips i had been saving, get them online so he could review them.....
But then i said fvck it, i'll just make a whole video out of them.
Enjoy.

you learn something new every day. YouTubed one-shotted me. i tried something and it didn't work. They did it. I wanted to slip in something that fit really well, but Google's licensing/matching software code caught it and crushed the video, resetting it's settings. Making it private. Tried to fix it, but i don't think it will work.
I may have to delete this thread. That sucks. Or do a quick re-edit of the video.

Looks like you are getting the jump on guys in most encounters. I think you'd have a lot of success in hard core Dat intro spawn kill doe. I played a game of Momentum on Ascend once where the other team (a full clan) had the spawns figured out perfectly. They were all aiming into a different corner with LMGs and the game just kept spawning us right into sights. It only happened the one game though, and that was like 2 weeks ago. I'm hopeful that it was fixed, since every patch mentions "spawn tweaking". I don't understand why every COD just doesn't have a line of code that says "If enemy is aimed directly on this spot, don't spawn me here".

I'm hopeful that it was fixed, since every patch mentions "spawn tweaking". I don't understand why every COD just doesn't have a line of code that says "If enemy is aimed directly on this spot, don't spawn me here". Yeah, i really don't know if i had a jump, my aim just sucks, or lag is just crushing. It is what it is. I was just having a little fun with the video. Keep it lighthearted. It wasn't put up to micro-analyse the game so much. But as far as spawn, it is completely absurd. I could have made the entire video about spawns like that. I have about twenty clips saved as bad as the one in the video. Ridiculously stupid spawns where people are standing right next to each other, but one can only watch so many of them in a row before getting bored. (not that deaths are that much more entertaining). Right now, the game is very hard to play. I am sort of enjoying it, at times, but refuse to offer a conclusive 'like it' or 'stop playing it' until i put in more time. I keep thinking that if i keep playing, there will be some hidden brilliance in this game that will suddenly 'click on' within in, i see the light, and it will just be tons of fun again. Maybe? I don't know. That said, i am currently watching a lot of friends of mine just say 'FVCK THIS' and walk away from it. I think that sucks, as i enjoy playing with them. BUT i fully respect their views quite a lot. And seeing how many of them are walking away from the game, it makes me start to question myself, as to maybe i am being foolish in sticking this game out. It's not going to get better. Maybe sit it out and wait for Treyarch's next version? It's supposedly going back to WW2. No rockets. My biggest complaint now is the game feels like a bright and shiny new cover on old outdated crap game engine. It looks pretty, graphics, tons of bells and whistles....but the game is still relying on old outdated CoD engines, like for example, still using listen servers and lag compensation. That stuff works when the game is moving at certain speeds. But with AW, there is just SOOOOO much additional speeds and fast animation movements, that these things just outrace the ability of the game connection to keep up. My own internal testing shows speeds being increased by 25 to 30%, on maps that are smaller than CoD Ghosts. You just get these ridiculously unpredictable gun fights and such with conditions like that. I am seeing some people doing well at this game. One guy in our clan, from England, to name one. He was just absolutely hands down one of the best CoD players in the world imho in Ghosts, and he hasn't missed a beat with AW. The guy will still routinely put up 30plus kills a game in TDM and is pretty much an instant win regardless of who is on his team. He has transitioned over with no issues, although his KD is probably also half of what it used to be. It's all relative.

I keep thinking that if i keep playing, there will be some hidden brilliance in this game that will suddenly 'click on' within in, i see the light, and it will just be tons of fun again. Maybe? I fell in love with this game the day it came out. It is my favorite COD of them all - and I've been playing them all. It really caters to my "fly around the map showing off my dash/slide combos with a shotgun/smg" playstyle, and it really punishes loitering. Almost has a Gears of War feel to it, where mastering the movement is key. It's no Titanfall, but it's a similar type of fun, with the added COD replay value (via Barbie Doll dressups). So my guess is that if you don't love it at this point, you aren't going to love it at all. It probably won't "grow" on you, unless you are making new friends to play with to replace the ones leaving. Actually, I think that is what it boils down to (friends). Titanfall is such a better game, but all of my friends quit playing that because you couldn't dress up Barbie. I frequently have a full party on COD:AW, that is probably what makes it so much fun for me. My lure for COD games has always been doing something stupid/ridiculous for the round-ending killcam in each round of Search and Destroy. Or clutching up 1v6 as the last man alive, and hearing all your bros go nuts when you succeed. It's the people you play with.

looks like ping 200+, it happens, I usually quit such games. one should never rush or move towards opponents having such a ping disadvantage, only flanking or "flanking c4mping" might work. //sht: I always forget to say "thank you <developer>" when I have ping 200+, so much to learn from console bros : )

Or clutching up 1v6 as the last man alive, and hearing all your bros go nuts when you succeed. It's the people you play with. I'm going to respectively disagree Will. It's not a having people to play with issue. I had full parties of varying groups and people this whole clan war. When i say leaving, it's from a base of about 125 people. Even if people leave, there's always more to take their place. That's how it is. I've had fun this weekend though. The video was just poking fun a bit at a side thing i was doing recording deaths. But i've played with probably 25 clan members this weekend who have participated and it's been a good time, we are winning the Clan War in a big way (not that that matter, these platinum wars are lame). So that's not it. It's also not a game mechanics issue. I have TitanFall. I loved how it felt and played. The freedom to go anywhere, jump and parkour. Very liberating and exciting gameplay. The problem? Like yourself, the gaming population died. No friends to play it with, and after a while, no real goals to do in the game. There was no reason to be there anymore. So it's not an issue of mastering the movement mechanics. I am ALL for more movement in games. And i don't think that's the issue with people leaving the game either. Some of the people i am talking about who aren't going to stick around, they loved Titanfall. Again, this isn't the issue either. I also disagree with the premise that if you don't like it now, you probably won't later. Let me give you an example. I heavily disliked the Destiny Beta. Find it kind of dumb. Also didn't really enjoy the initial stages of playing it once i bought the game. But over time, the game kind of 'grew' on me, for a lack of a better word. I love the game now (that said, the recent DLC kind of turned me off a bit, made me feel it's a bit to much time-sucking) I can't put my finger on it, why some people are leaving. But i know people are. My hunch is that the overall gaming population is also much lower than even Ghosts before, sales numbers aside. My guess is the XB1 population numbers the last few nights are under 10,000 people playing. Maybe even lower., probably around 5,000. I know this game. Been playing since 2006. The last three nights, i am seeing the same freaking clans over and over in lobby searches. We ran across Lethal Gaming's squads three times last night alone. Come on. You aren't going to see that when you have 250,000 people online like with BO2, let along even 30,000 with CoD Ghosts. People are leaving. Which is why i believe SledgeHammer hid the lobby population numbers when you search a game. They don't want you to see how bad it is. My guess at the issue? The game just has to many animations going on, making it fall prey to much randomness with lag. Creating a clusterfuck of lag issues making many gun battles frustrating. Couple that with very low population numbers on the XB1, plus CoD STILL not using dedis (they are still using players hosting), creates a very uneven gameplay.

Most of those clips, with the ASM, i am running stock, grip and rapid fire. Is that a stock asm or a variant? I think Variant on all. In the video, i can't say i was using just one type of gun. I am still feeling my way with this game and HEAVILY experimenting with gun types. I didn't play the game much when it came out, i was away for a few weeks, plus finishing up Destiny stuff.

Now the other side of the video.
After a somewhat (at times) frustrating Friday night, i watched my above death video over and over while i made it. Trying to figure out what i could do to try and fix things. I like CoD. I'm not going to roll over and let this game chase me out. I made some adjustments. The ASM1 is NOT as good as the BAL imho. That's for starters. So back to the BAL all the time, every game. I also went back to the Stock/Grip/Quickdraw combo for the gun.I also made some technical adjustments on my jumping mechanics, making sure as soon as i jump in the air, i go ADS immediately. Then fine turned some response mechanics/techniques i had not been doing properly while in CQC encounters. Plus some old school back to the basics, on cornering with the ADS up, plus about five other basic things, as well as better/more conservative map routes. Yeah, all of that. Actually drilled some things.
Sometimes you have to relearn things over.
I decided to get back on the horse today. The results when i went back in to play today? I did nine games solo TDM. The picked up a friend RoadBeers and played about seven games with him on TDM too. Went 10-6 in winning, and did not go negative even one game. Not one. All in all, my KD was probably well over 2.0 for the entire 16 game session. Paper estimates at or around 2.2 or so. The only negative game i experienced was when we picked up a friend Aroc for the 17th game, and in that next game, got the xSGx full partied six clan. I went like 8-15. SBMM at play? I have no clue. If i had like 40 'WTF' death moments Friday night, i couldn't have had more than two the entire time today. I feel like some adjustments i made worked, as i did much much better. And i had a blast. I was going to get to Destiny after a game or two....never got to it. AW was fun.
Here's a video of today. You'll see me hitting shots i was missing in the above video from Friday night.

Try this class setup... ASM1 magnitude with grip, quickdraw, and advanced rifling. ASM1 magnitude has +2 range paired with advanced rifling +1. Im pretty sure that setup is one of the few where every single gun stat is at 10 or above. I play cap the flag and I use it on most maps. Be precise with it. What I mean is that when facing people at range bump the trigger a little. It seems like in the video you just started dumping and were struggling with aim because of it. I always have to remind myself of that as well. Always have to remind myself to ADS when hitting corners where theres even a small possibility of an enemy. This cod series you really have to be in the zone. Watch some of optic scumps (scumperjumper on youtube) pub videos of advanced warfare. It will make you feel a whole lot better about advanced warfare. He posted a funny one yesterday of him trying to clutch an uplink pub match. It really will boost your confidence seeing a high profile player such as scump struggle and also you get to hear his commentary during. Its just a nice refreshing reminder that we aren't the only ones that get BS'd.

I don't understand why every COD just doesn't have a line of code that says "If enemy is aimed directly on this spot, don't spawn me here". Supposedly in black ops 2 vonderhhhharrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr said that you would never spawn in front of someone's line of fire. Not sure if that was true or maybe just didnt get coded correctly. Vonderhaar said something to that effect and yet, it was his game that had the guy going 500-2 in Demolition by just knifing someone on the spawn over and over. There is a line of sight spawn preference. Remember that line of sight is foot to foot. You can easily stand with your foot behind a solid object and pre-aim at a spawn location, killing an enemy on the respawn over and over again at a "fair" distance. In waved spawn respawn modes, one can also stand in a spot with direct line of sight but turn around and face the other direction until the respawn wave and still get the enemy to spawn where they want. Some game modes, like Demolition, did not allow for flipping the spawns like what happens in Domination and that is why they got so heavily abused. They tried to make adjustments to that in BO1 but it never really worked and the line of sight preference has remained just that, a preference. The same crap that happened in the video posted above was happening in Ghosts, BO2, and MW3 as well. It just wasn't as common. Something they changed in this game made it worse but it is too early to tell what. People will figure it out given enough time. Spawning into line of sight at a distance is already getting heavily abused in hc:dom. I've already joined several games in progress where there are direct line-of-sight spawn traps that you cannot escape from because hard core gives you no time to react and the vertical element makes the old Riot Shield escape tricks useless. Notable examples: Comeback - Team Holding only C flag - can force them to spawn in the building with 3 out of 6 spawn locations in direct line of sight via the right doorway and back wall. Defender - A flag - 2 of 6 - the spot in the corner next to the bridge and the one you can see thru the window within the air defense tower. Solar - A flag - 3 of 6 - outside the back building by the cars. The worst spot I've noticed the behavior in the video posted above is the back area of Riot by the A flag behind the building. There is a "V" there where you can spawn either on right side or the left side. In FFA/TDM/KC modes where you are not bound to your objective, opposing teams can spawn on opposite sides of that "v" at the same time. It happens very consistently. That could be written off to spawn logic, but it happens even if someone is already near there, like spawns and backs up a few steps. I really miss theater mode because that tool enabled you to see what variables are in play a lot easier. On the other hand, that made the abuse more prevalent, too.
