Some shotgun variants have +/- accuracy, which I know is hipspread. If I was using the S12 Whirlwind, which has -2 accuracy and If I aimed down sights would I get a tighter spread as opposed to hipfiring?

Yes. You can test it in the firing range in 10 seconds. Shoot a wall hipfired, shoot a wall ADSed, compare the spreads.

Problem is the lack of surfaces with nice, defined bullet decal things. I've tried to compare them but it's not as easy as the past imo.

Oh at first I thought he was asking if a shotgun with minus accuracy would have worse spread ADS'd. So now I'm asking that even though I already no the answer is no, it has the same ADS spread.
ADSing with shotguns gives you the same accuracy as your standing still hip fire, which is way better than moving hip fire.

Same accuracy sure but the bulletspreads are a completely different story. Tried to show this off with weapons that are somewhat similar, this is again not AW weapons, but it has been the same since every CoD. There are 2 types of spreads one is hipSpread which is when you're not in ADS and then there's adsSpread, each have their own factors. adsSpread is not modified by movement or any sort of action but hipSpread is. So technically you can get a tighter spread if you ADS as long as the adsSpread is smaller than hipSpread accumulation.

I know ads is better than hip firing with the laser but does ads use the base standing hipspread or the laser one?

I know ads is better than hip firing with the laser but does ads use the base standing hipspread or the laser one? Great question, but I objectively don't think ~13% accuracy bonus is worth it. I'd rather go with quickdraw

Just did some testing, looks like laser hip spread and ADS spread are identical. So unless the laser tightens shotgun ADS spread then ADS always uses laser hip spread. Woulda been funny if standing still laser was more accurate than ADS. That's some CoD4 shit. I know ads is better than hip firing with the laser but does ads use the base standing hipspread or the laser one? Great question, but I objectively don't think ~13% accuracy bonus is worth it. I'd rather go with quickdraw Laser is only worth it if you already have Quickdraw and Advanced Rifling on. Laser is a supplement to Quickdraw in this game, by itself it basically does nothing. Except maybe on guns that can handle hip-fire only out to the beginning of medium range.

I know ads is better than hip firing with the laser but does ads use the base standing hipspread or the laser one? Easy enough to test yourself... Turn on paintball mode and unload a full clip into a wall. Once with laser and once without. My findings are that none of the attachments tighten ADS spread.

ADS spread is its own specific value. It has never been affected by Laser/Steady Aim because those only reduce the hipfire spread values.
