Most of those being brought forward are meh but it's good for people that like to use them. I see no point in Patience and Time existing whilst it gives off scope glare. The whole cloaking ability goes out of the window when you have a noob protection feature that gives you a whacking great big red beam out of your scope. And not brining back Thorn is a bit of a cop-out especially as it was the only gun truely earned before House of Wolves came along.

Yeah, my overall impression from the stream yesterday was a big 'ole pile of "meh." There are some nice quality of life changes, especially the 1:1 infusion thing, but quality of life changes don't keep people playing. I'm still interested in running the new questlines and strikes, doing the new PoE a few times, and checking out some of the new weapons are armors, but I still haven't seen anything that's going to hold my interest all that long.
More old exotics brought forward...who cares when there are only a couple viable exotics for endgame stuff? Original Y1 favorite weapons brought forward...kind of cool until you see the reddit post that broke their stats down and concluded that almost none of them are going to be equal to, much less better than, current guns stats-wise unless they're overhauled quite a bit from their old stats. Chroma...oh look my armor glows different colors, fun I guess but no big deal. New emotes...that we still only have the option to use one at a time. New Spektar and Desolate armors look cool...but they're totally RNG through the sterling treasure thing, with no guaranteed way to earn them (unless I missed something there). Oh, but you can buy more sterling treasure with silver (aka the beginning of the nonsense that's going on with CoD right now). Being able to pay from more faction rep bonuses is super sketchy IMO. I didn't catch any new unique armor rewarded from the updated PoE either, which would be a dumb change, assuming they aren't simply holding that back for some reason. Every era has had its own set of armor that can only be earned through the current endgame activity, and now that's gone? Why? Perfect opportunity to bring back some of the original Queen's Wrath armor, or a modified version thereof, that they missed completely.
EDIT: Yeah, I missed the updated PoE armors, so nevermind that last point. Still would've been cool to see Queen's Wrath gear again, but oh well.
EDIT EDIT: Also, I'm a tad miffed that no mention has been made of all the missing shaders and ships that show up in those kiosks. They've been in there since TTK dropped, when the F can we expect to see them in-game?

Yeah I chuckled when DeeJ mentioned his Shadow Price because high impact assault rifles were essentially deleted from the game. There's only one top tier assault rifle in the game, Doctrine of Passing with Counterbalance, and its exclusivity makes the Rifles and Cannons bounty beyond stupid. Bungie wants us to use sub-optimal gear like test weapons from the Gunsmith and for bounty purposes for the Shaxxfall but they have strict SBMM criteria when forming lobbies? Some players will need softer lobbies to use sub-optimal gear for the sake of task completion. And if we only run optimal gear there's not much to use to start with.
Yeah I suspect those exotics will be in a later DLC that will require a purchase. It won't surprise me because the game has gone 'pay to win' since year 1 legendary gear had their cooldowns nerfed, since I don't think it's possible to max out your cooldowns using blue armour. Would be nice to see Vallsgarde drop in this upcoming DLC but I can't see it happening. I like the quality of life improvements and I'd have kept some exotics if the 1:1 infusion existed, but I'm not going to spend several Exotic Shards to improve the light of an exotic with minimal use as it turns out more expensive than the re-levelling required during The Dark Below. I'm fine with running sub-optimal gear in loot-driven games, I did this quite often in Borderlands 2, e.g. a Bandit allegiance run with Krieg and a Jakobs build with Maya.

Another thought I'm having now, thinking about mechanics in Diablo and The Division, is that we really need the ability to reroll any legendary weapon or armor. The crappy drop rates and number of worthless perks for weapons makes getting even a decent roll on some weapons a huge RNG-fest with a side of more RNG. Even if it was limited to rerolling one perk slot or armor stat, and then being stuck with only being able to reroll that slot, it would be a nice change. I know rerolling got dumped because Bungie didn't like the "god roll" HoW meta, but honestly it wasn't everyone's desire for god rolls that was the problem, it was Bungie's shitty balance that made certain perks vastly superior to others. I fail to see how the current "grind marks to buy a special engram, hope that engram gives a 1KYS, hope that 1KYS isn't complete trash, repeat" meta is better in any way than the HoW "get gun, reroll until perfect" meta.

Wow. On top of the pile of "meh" that is the Destiny April update, Massive just unveiled the April update for The Division, and it shits all over Destiny IMHO. They're introducing the first Incursion (think raid), new set gear with special bonuses, gear trading within your group, matchmaking for all endgame activities, no weekly lockouts on Incursion rewards, and more. In other words, a bunch of things people have begged Bungie for since Destiny came out that have yet to be implemented our were outright shot down. Conveniently, it's also dropping on April 12th. Giant shot across Bungie's bow, in my mind. Ballsy move, and I love it.

I suspect they tried to appease the crybabies on r/DTG who hated shotguns having an 'insane range' because they've never played a shooter that has shotguns killing beyond pissing range despite what we've had in MW2, Ghosts or BFBC2, or sniper rifles that can carry more than a handful of rounds so Field Scout gets nerfed killing some guns in the process (e.g. Efrideet's Spear). I have a Conspiracy Theory-D I use on my Warlock that has Aggressive Ballistics, Grenadier, Rifled Barrel and Underdog. I'm beginning to wonder if the next Crucible update will shorten their OHK range further despite having a fire rate abysmally slow. And players can be made more aggrieved on 'perceived' OP weapons because they cannot compete due to the lack of re-rolling. Time I get a second shot off with the Conspiracy Theory-D, I could have emptied a whole magazine from a sniper rifle and still be fairly accurate since sniper rifles in this game have minimal recoil. Looks like Bungie are making grinding more rewarding supposedly anyway - www.bungie.net/en/News/Article/44545/7_Sterling-Reputation. I have a fair chunk of Strange Coins and Weapon Parts I can donate after the update hits and try for the Vallsgarde shader I guess since I suspect the new exotic armour pieces are being withheld in a future paid DLC despite being featured in promotional footage for TTK.
