It's EA... so I gotta ask the lootbox question... how prevelant and essential are they?

Tried the Sharpshooter for the invaded mission and felt the handling for the rifles could be better, particularly sniper rifles when scoping in as the encounters don't usually provide large enough open areas and long sight lines enough. Would be nice to have iron sights, ACOG and a red dot sight as options for optics for sniper rifles though. Liked the Super 90 for the shotgun. I dunno about the 50 cal gun, but I know on the sniper/marksman rifle that the sniper class had, I was able to change that weapon attachment around

With the persistent attachments (once unlocked just slap them on everything) I can see the potential of shorter life like vanilla destiny 2. No way to strive for the perfect red dot etc. It's a delicate balance, I agree. I hate having 50 of my 90 inventory spots dedicated to mods. And while I don't think the was to strive for the perfect weapon attachment will happen, there will always be that strive for the perfect weapon... the problem with Melbatoast Destiny2 was that there was no chase for either weapon or mod... here there will at least be that weapon. Plus, afaik, the gear will have random stats too; I got several of the same purple named set pieces with different stats on them

I took my time exploring and looking around.
I had no desire to go to the DZ because I have limited desire to do PVP in the first place.
I'm really really going to have to get used to not facetanking enemies... I have to remember that my weapons are not godrolled and my gear won't keep me alive
Although in the Black Tusk mission, I facetanked one of those big minigun yellow bars with a shotty and took him down...THAT was hellafun

So... whatchu all think of the beta?
I enjoyed my time... I did a couple of the missions then did the endgame mission on normal with all 3 specializations and on hard with 2 of them.
First of all, it was really hard not to face tank and to get used to being squishy again... that was a big change. As well, I must have popped more medkits in half a hard mission than I have in the last 6 months of TD1.
I loved all there was to explore and loot... I hope they don't tone that down for the real game. I also like having to help each settlement with their stuff too; this way it will make collectibles more relevant.
Found combat more challenging without a pulse and not having those red triangles stay forever over enemies heads.
I really really like how they changed the elite enemies armour; that once their armour goes down, their health goes down much quicker
I still have no idea how to kill those walking robot tank gunners...is there a weakspot?
Enjoyed the specialization classes; I like the sniper a a class but I like the bow as a "super" best
Other than one crash and a rampant audio glitch that would go on for minutes at a time... no complaints
You guys?

PSA: - there a big update to download. I had 50gb free and it wouldn’t download because there wasn’t enough space. I’ve just made room and it’s downloading now. Forsaken for a while then. Now that my PS4 is destiny-less, I have all the space in the world... or at least 200ish gigs

I always believed in you Guvnah... never forget that. Ball ache of the highest order. Had do do it on pc in the end. I could only do it to uPlay friends. Great things demand great sacrifices. For example, I am sick as a f$$king dog, yet I will be playing this tonight.

Interesting stuff about the Tusks there...
They sorta remind me of that DLC for Ghost Recon: Wildlands... the new faction with the uber technology like the ones with the cloaking, or the radar jammers...
It sounds like the LMB on steroids

Black Tusk sound tough, the demo gives you some elite gear so you can take them on, it will be some grind to get to that level in game. Did you get a code or preorder? What's it like?

Has anyone actually received a beta code? I registered ages ago but have got nothing. I was just able to re register so maybe I was too early and in typical ubi style, they lost me. This beta is only for preorders... so if you preorder, you'd get a code... if you didn't, you have to hope someone on reddit gives you one. I'm waffling yes or no on preordering... The division 1 was just soooooo bad at launch, but part of me knows that since I've given up on Destiny, I'm going to play the divsion 2 anyways, so I might as well just preorder the fecking thing. Anyone else on PS4 preorder it? bradman? You tooros?

tomclancy-thedivision.ubisoft.com/game/en-us/news-updates/343240/welcome-to-the-division-2-private-betaWelcome to The Division 2 Private Beta! If you have been selected into the testing phase, we want to welcome you as you take your first steps into Washington, D.C. The beta introduces you to some of the unique features The Division 2 has to offer—main missions, side missions, open world activities, and one of the three Dark Zones—to name a few.
NCSA Asset You are limited to one character during the testing phase, and this character cannot be deleted. At character creation, you are able to cycle through presets of customization features to randomize your Agent. Remember that character progression is capped at level seven during this period.
Two main missions are available—Grand Washington Hotel and Jefferson Trade Center—to offer a smaller piece of a much larger, compelling narrative we are telling from start to finish. You can access these missions from Odessa Sawyer and Dyani Kelso, respectively.
As you explore D.C., five optional Side Missions will also be available for everyone who prefers to branch out from the main storyline:
Empire Autumn Hotel MLK Library Hostages National Archives Mustang Court Rescue Bureau Headquarters You will explore parts of seven named zones, each possessing a specific level range to indicate difficulty as you traverse the world:
The White House—also serving as your Base of Operations in D.C. Downtown East The Federal Triangle The Smithsonian Final Epiphany The 1040 Dark Zone East—the largest of all three Dark Zones, players utilize long sightlines in over-grown governmental parks. You will acquire the DZ East introduction mission from Senait Ezera—the new Dark Zone NPC in the Base of Operations—after completing Jefferson Trade Center. Completing this intro-mission unlocks full access to the Dark Zone and its features. In addition, a variety of Control Points, living world activities, and Conflict PVP await in the Private Beta.
World Timing Map NCSA END GAME We are excited to announce that the Private Beta will also feature a portion of The Division 2's end game! After completing Jefferson Trade Center for the first time, you will gain access to an end-game mission that unlocks three level 30 characters on your account. Upon logging in with one of these characters, the end game mission will begin. Each character is equipped with a different Specialization, so feel free to find your favorite! Please note that this end game mission will be available starting on February 8 at 5 PM CET.
With all that being said, we have a few closing reminders!
This beta phase is not under an NDA, so we encourage everyone to capture and share their experiences with the community. This version of the game is not final and elements are subject to change. If you do not have access to the Private Beta, you can preorder or register for a chance to be selected!

According to the e-mail I got from Playstation, I put in 1177 hours in this game last year. You mean... a loot based game... with random rolls... that showers you in those random rolls... can succeed in keeping players going and going and going... without a major DLC addition? Madness!!! I'm at a measly 580
