Hi. Sent some tweets to Demize99 (Alan Kertz) Senior Designer Battlefield: Bad Company 2. it all began when i saw: @dennisvictor All bullets drop over distance. Observation fail.I posted: @demize99 Wat? The PC files says only the HMG_bullet and Sniper_bullet drop? The regular are more or less unaffected by gravity.Since thats what ive read on this site and thats what ive experienced myself. Everything except snipers and HMG doesnt have any or very little bulletdrop. His answer: @dewpa Uh.. the material on the bullet has nothing to do with the gravity. Try again. My answer @demize99 Check this site: denkirson.xanga.com/722757523/bad-company-2/ All data pulled from the PC files. Are you saying its wrong? His final answer @dewpa Yes, that site gets the gravity stats wrong.Soooo Den or anyone else. Care to comment? Sure maybe the bullet materials doenst have anything to do with gravity, but bulletdrop is practically non existent on most guns as far as i can tell. Demize can be very "bitchy" but his statements are usually true.

maybe that's some confusion, because there IS bullet drop even on the normal bullet weapons like assault rifles and semi auto sniper rifles...but it's sooooo ludacrusly tiny that it has hardly any effect...that way, both are kind of right^^

All bullets drop. The machineguns have "almost no" drop except after several hundred meters.
The confusion is probably because I referenced the bullets to their material types, and that's how the conversation went. The material type of bullets has nothing to do with gravity, but it is a coincidence that only the Sniper_Bullet using sniper rifles had different bullet drop from the automatic weapons.

Out of curiosity, Den, what is it that makes you say assault weapons have little to no bullet drop? Are you deducing that because there is no mention of a GravityModifier in any of their files (that I've seen so far, anyway), the value defaults to zero?

If there was bullet drop on assault rifles, then I would notice when sniping with mah M416. Ive tested this. From Valapraiso light tower to 4th base w/ XM8, I always killed in 3 shots if I went for the head. The tracers don't show any drop either. When I went for the head, I always hit the head.

I say that they have little to no bullet drop because I put the chevron of my 4X ACOG'd assault rifle on a Recon at 200m+ ranges and don't have to adjust at all.
There was a variable... somewhere that I can't find anymore. It was on one weapon in the beta files - something that indicated that the projectile would travel straight for a period of time before gravity kicked in.
