Den, Do you know what the patch changed on the bolt action rifles? The notes say something about modifying them for balance.
I'm goofing off at work, trying to figure this out. Gonna download the patch and look at the files.

Did you look at each bolt rifle? I'll install the patch when I get home and look at the files. I think all the bolts damage/modfiers should be changed to what they are with the scope attached. Basically one shot at any range to head/upper chest. With SP, also one shot to stomach. SP V Jugg, you still get headshot and upper chest. Right now, a bolt has no chance against a Jugg (has to head shot w/ SP).
They could also do stuff to differentiate the rifles from each other. Maybe one has little/no sway, but fires really slow. Or maybe one has a 6x scope, while another has a 4x scope, etc. I dunno...but basically if you're a sniper you've got 3 choices right now: PTRS, Garand, or Bolt. It would be cool if the bolts were different.

Haven't gotten the patch yet. Download is going hideously slow. Check to see if the Springfield's sights were adjusted.

The springfield's sights are still off.
I looked at the Spingfield stock, springfield scoped, Kar98k stock...the damage and modifiers are the same. I did notice that location_helmet is 1.5 (don't know what it was before)...but does this mean that you can't one shot a jugg in the helmet (you have SP)? LOL...now you can only one shot a jugg to half of it's head.

Only the Bolt-Action rifles have a different "Helmet" than a "Head". Thing is, not all player models have a helmet, or they are all differently-shaped.
The Helmet hit location doesn't really exist... because the rifles use "RifleBullet". RifleBullet will penetrate "body parts" and will deliver damage based on the highest location multiplier that was hit. A shot to the head will do 2X even if it has to go through the helmet.

The patch has not changed a single weapon. This appears to be only bugfixes and Makin_Day.
The reason the file is so big is because the following maps were changed:
mp_roundhouse mo_outskirts mp_makin mp_hangar mp_downfall mp_courtyard mp_castle mp_asylum mp_airfield mp_suburban mp_shrine mp_seelow
And each of those maps are pretty big in file size.

So that "Fine tuned Bolt-Action Rifles for balance." thing is a lie?

Well maybe they changed something really minor that's not in the weapon files...I heard someone say bolts will now one shot a dog.... ??
By the way...are there any damage modifiers on dogs? They have 100 health right? Do you get anything for shooting them in the head, etc?
I'm pretty disappointed with the patch so far. Although the hit detection does seem to be better. I haven't noticed any glaring issues yet. There's been a few shots I'm pretty sure I hit, but the target was moving so you can never be sure.
Oh, I like Makin Day. The biggest thing is that the tide is out, so you can move quickly through sections that the water would have slowed you down before. I think this really improves the balance of the map. Before the Japanese side was superior because one flank was "protected' by water. One sniper (usually me) could keep the entire enemy team from crossing that section.

Treyarch fixing weapon by editing another files. So for example they remove bazooka jump boost, but bazooka file not changed
So, I think they fixing rifles with another file...

I was able to kill dogs in one shot before the patch so that hasn't changed.
