It's possible that the overhead maps are scaled equally and that each square is a uniform measurement. I'll try to test it later.
A solid way to determine distances is to stick an empty vehicle with a Tracer Dart and then lock on to it with an RPG to see how far away from it you are.

Thanks for the tracer tip. But it would be awesome if you figured out the scaling in meters for those overhead maps.

Also, when you play Conquest, you can just refer to the number under each letter on your HUD.

Is there any way to acquire the distance while playing Recon? Does the Mortar Strike have a range indicator?
Also, is there any hard ratio between the beads/chevrons on the sniper scopes and bullet drop? Like 0-200m for the center of the crosshairs, 300 for the next bead, 400 for the next, etc etc?
