I noticed that it's possible to aim with the 40 mm shotgun attachment. Does this decrease the spread or increase it like MW2?
Same question for the regular shotguns NOT using the 12G slugs.

Nope. Buckshot Shotguns use a fixed Dispersion.

sorry to dredge up an old topic but I wanted to be sure I understand the question/answer correctly.
Is there -no- difference in pellet spread whether you're "zoomed" or not with shotguns? (any shotgun, not just 40mm)
I have been repeatedly told (and consequently have told others) that "zooming" the shotguns reduces buckshot spread by 20%.

Nope. Buckshot shotguns have 0 spread, instead using "Dispersion" which is a fixed number.

so... "zooming" with any buckshot shot gun does nothing but affect your FOV?
I'm sorry to ask so many questions about the same question which has been answered but I just can't quite wrap my mind around the answer.

Well, zooming, or "aiming down the sights" on shotgun have effect: all shots were fired from the same distance, with Spas, Saiga and 40mm buckshot. When ADSing, pellet spread is smaller, and definitely smaller with 40mm

www.majhost.com/gallery/gibbospazz/Stuff/Battlefield/adstest.pngI did a quick test on an empty server with each shotgun to test how they were affected. From my experiments, it seems that there's definitely a slight decrease in spread when you ADS. I made sure I was standing at the exact same range when testing while ADS firing, so it's not a problem with that. Most curious. (By the way, how do you make an auto-shrinking image like in panocek's post? The normal IMG tags don't seem to do that.)

(By the way, how do you make an auto-shrinking image like in panocek's post? The normal IMG tags don't seem to do that.) He's using ImageShack which provides him a thumbnail image that is then linked to the ImageShack page for the full size image. So when he tells ImageShack "I want code to insert this image into a post using the BBS [img] tag," ImageShack responds with an image of the thumbnail wrapped inside a [url] link to the real thing. Thus, tiny image linking to the big one. Or if you host your own space, you can make your own thumbnail and do it.
