Okay I just finished a game and the most efficient way to go in this game seems to be shotgun 12slug and carl gustav. That way you are basically dangerous to everyone...even snipers.
The 12slug addition should be removed from this game, It's not bloody well balanced. What the hell..
Anyone agree?

I don't see anything wrong with the slug shotgun (pump-action is the only one I'm really familiar with). It essentially turns the gun into a sniper rifle that also fires faster and is great at close range. However, it has no scope, making it very difficult to aim at range (particularly get a headshot) unless the target is standing still, and you've also used up a weapon spec slot (granted, the least useful slot, but still a factor). So, I guess it is a better all-around gun than a sniper rifle and can be used on any class, but I don't have a big problem with it. I suppose they should decrease accuracy while hipfire+moving to make hipfire less reliable at close range.

Yes...decrease the accuracy and the long range damage with the neostead at least.

The slug shotgun is identical to a Recon rifle without a scope. If it had any other kind of negative added to it, it would have no point.
"Snipers" do not need any more help and they certainly do not need a threat of theirs removed.

Almost agree with you here. Try an Engineer with Carl (Spec1 = Explosive Upgrade) and a SAIGA (Spec2 = Shotgun Upgrade) and you are King of CQC, Vehicle Gremlin (Tracer, no pistols), and CG Sniper. The 12slug addition should be removed from this game, It's not bloody well balanced. What the hell.. Anyone agree? /rant Don't agree a bit with this latter point. Ever get in a slug users face? They're pretty lousy shots up close (= balance) -- skilled no scopers are more the exception in my experience. 80+% of my 870 Combat play was with Lightweight Pack and Magnum Ammo (uber buckshot). Slugs on ranged maps, only. 870, Grach, SAIGA and Combat Knife (in 12 more stabs) are my only Platinums awards; apparently, I'm a bit biased toward the CQC side.

Lol no need to get butthurt about it. Have you compared them on the stats page? Den wasn't lying. A pump action with slugs has the same damage rating as a bolt action rifle, and a semi automatic with slugs has the same damage as the semi auto rifles. Sure, it might be a little weird that any class can get a weapon similar to a sniper rifle (though it lacks a scope) and it might be even weirder that these are shotguns doing these types of things, but I guess you could think of it like the Halo pistol. Functionally, I didn't find it overpowered. It was a nice all around weapon that took skill to aim and place shots. The weird thing was its model/skin; a pistol shouldn't be doing those things.

And my problem is that I keep on liking the idea of that stuff should be used like in real life...I don't mean the game should be realistic but I just figure that the assault rifles should just out-do the shotguns in most situations (except close quarters.) I was just raging when I wrote this sorry to even fill up the space on the forum.
