In BC1, there were guns that were definitely underpowered. Ex. M24, AN94, M416. In BC2, there were guns that were definitely underpowered. Ex. AUG, F2000 In the MoH demo, the AK-47 was useless. DenKirson confirmed that the AK-47 took more STK than the M16, despite firing slower and having just a TINY advantage in spread. There was zero advantage in using the AK-47 over the SMG variant.
Now, it's so blindingly obvious that in BC2, the AUG was outclassed by about every other assault gun, even just by looking at the numbers. How is it possible that DICE did not see this? It is statistically worse, and even without beta testing, it was immediately obvious that it was inferior to the M416, XM8, etc. I mean, the people are being payed to make this game, and they didn't see that the AUG would be useless? Even by just looking at the numbers?
In MoH: (From another thread) Assault Rifles: M16A2 = 650 RPM, 25/18 damage and 20-60 meter drop-off. AK-47 = 600 RPM, 20/14 damage and 20-60 meter drop-off. G3 = 400 RPM, 25/17 damage and 10-60 meter drop-off. F2000 = 800 RPM, 17/14 damage and 15-45 meter drop-off. SMGs: MP7 = 900 RPM, 21/12 damage and 5-20 meter drop-off. P90 = 850 RPM, 21/12 damage and 5-20 meter drop-off.
Since MoH has VERY little recoil, even higher recoil numbers would not make much of a difference. The MP7 is superior in pretty much every way.
I'm not getting the logic that DICE uses. The AK47 fires slower, and does less damage, and only has a 0.05 cone advantage. I mean, really?

Underpowered is better than overpowered. Making a gun underpowered amounts to taking it out of the game. Making a gun overpowered amounts to taking every other gun out of the game.
The pre-nerf M60 was a far greater mistake than the AUG. Unfortunately, because the AUG is a less serious error, it never got the attention needed for DICE to feel like they had to fix it.

But it was an obvious error?
