hi again bros, this should be my last 1 on snipers, but could someone list all the pros and cons of having the acog scope on the M40A3 sniper. and whether u think the m40 is better with the normal sniper scope of with the acog. thanks again bros The advantage is that M40 + ACOG + Stopping Power = 1 shot kill to any part of the body (even limbs). M40 + Normal Scope + Stopping Power = 1 shot kill to head, neck, upper torso, and lower torso, but not the limbs. ACOGs are also a lot quicker to pull up, and they don't completely obstruct your focus (you retain your mini-map while scoped in, for example). Traditional scopes, on the other hand, have better zoom and the ability to hold your breath to steady the scope (which you can't do with an ACOG). Traditional scopes are better at long range or for tactical loitering snipers. ACOGs are better for mid-ranges and more of a run-and-gun playstyle.

M40 + ACOG Pros - Slightly quicker scope-in time - Increased damage in such a way the the whole body is 1-hit-kill.
Cons - The ads zoom is halved. - Unable to hold breath.
Regular M40 Pros - Twice the ads zoom as ACOG scope. - Able to hold breath
Cons - Slightly slower scope-in time. - Only the torso and head is 1-hit-kill.
Both the regular and ACOGed M40 are weak against Juggernaut.

If I was going to snipe I would use the M40 no attachment (but I would rather have the .50). If I was going to use more medium range tactics I would use the M40 ACOG. You are comparing apples and oranges here.

o right cheers ssog, so which scope would you choose if you had to? That depends. If I felt like tactical loitering around and sniping at long range (for instance, the map is Crash and I'm holding the balcony in the TV shop), then I'd use the scope suited to long range and tactical loitering. If I wanted to run and gun and shoot from medium range (for instance, the map is Showdown or Vacant), then I'd use the scope suited to medium range and running. If I wanted to stick strictly to CQB, then I'd use a gun suited to CQB. If I wanted to do a lot of running and hipfiring, I'd use a gun that's accurate from the hip and a quick killer. If I wanted to be stealthy and flank the enemy, I'd use a gun that was good with a silencer and UAV Jammer. Basically, I'd use the gun that was strong at however I wanted to play- and since I told you what those two guns were strong at, it's up to you to decide how you'd rather play. I will say that I'm personally under the opinion that M40 + ACOG isn't really sniping. It behaves a lot more like the M16 + ACOG than it does that M40 + Sniper Scope. M40 + ACOGPros- Slightly quicker scope-in time Regular M40Cons- Slightly slower scope-in time. The difference in scope-in times is far more significant than "slight". Also, you forgot about the mini-map, and that the regular scope obstructs more of the peripheral vision.

The ACOG scope gives the M40 more power. I call it the Elephant gun. I's basically like your putting a .70 barrel on that sniper rifle when you use an ACOG. I use that when I snipe, it's so f$%#@ powerful.
