I can play with ppsh (everyone can, its so easy), i can play with mac10 (fast, good iron sights, excellent for sniping, almost 0 recoil, i dont know, sometimes i think its better than pepesza), but damn, i cant play with uzi using these horrible iron sights. Also muzzle flash obstructing the view- it makes almost impossible to aim at running target. Hip fire is ok (especially with perk) but middle-long range combat is pain. The same deal is with XM22- better stats than rpk, but when you start playing- its less accurate, has worse irons and due to flash you cant see shit when firing. Pure stats don't count, imo rpk and m60 >> stoner, and ppsh,m10 >> uzi.

Pure stats don't count, imo rpk and m60 >> stoner, and ppsh,m10 >> uzi. My argument against flash and poor iron sights:This is only a problem at MediumClose range due to the spotting mechanic. I am on the XBOX 360, and I have basically trained myself to spot anyone at 15m+, use iron sights (no spotting) for 10-15m, and hipfire at close range. Since the triangle (a) gives you an exact location of the enemy, uncluttered by iron sights, and (b) gives your teammates the drop on enemy troop movements, it's basically invaluable. Perhaps because I rarely used sights in Vanilla BC2 in favor of irons and perks, I am immensely comfortable with most iron sights in the Vanilla Game (few exceptions being AN-94, UMP, M14 ERB). Example: the MG3, when it was better in Vanilla, was a deathmachine for me at range for some reason: I was always spotting, the irons blocked the muzzle flash, and no view zoom (unlike the 4x which seemed popular for god knows why) kept my FOV wide open. I platted both the normal and SPECACT and enjoyed myself immensly, never using a reflex sight. Back to 'Nam, despite the recoil numbers, my limited experience has shown that in bursts of 3-6 put down enemies at long range very easily, and for some reason, the recoil always walks straight to the head at the end of the burst, never going too far left or right. Perhaps I have spewed tons of subjective statements, but as it stands, here are the facts: IF you land all your bullets on a target, assuming you are using Magnum Ammo, the Uzi kills almost exactly as fast as the M1A1 and PPSh and faster than the Mac10 at close range and MUCH faster at long range than all three. NO smg will be able to land all bullets on target when shooting fully auto at ranges greater than 70m, Mac10 included. Considering this, the Uzi will remain my go-to weapon. Looking at some video of the flash differences, the Uzi has arguably a tiny bit more flash than the PPSh, but not noticeably so. The Mac10 remains flash-less, but I still believe it is desperately underpowered. The changes I proposed for it would still leave it with the longest kill times, but it would buff it a bit. Anyway, can we at least agree that the AK is a bit ridiculous? And the M16 is pretty useless? I love discussions like this, it really makes me take a closer look at the whole picture!

Looking at the 870, I wonder why they lowered the headshot multipliers and bumped up the buckshot close range damage? The changes don't affect slugs (unless you are not using magam and the other person has body armor, leading to no OHK at range with a slug to the head). I mean, the gun looks, feels, and acts exactly the same as the vanilla version, but the damage has been mucked around with... it is not like they can make the iron sight damage bump argument here...
I say that it's more of a nerf. If you aim for the head at range mag ammo, it used to only take 4 pellets to kill, now it takes 5 (7 against body armor, used to be 5). I find the shotgun immensely useful on attacking or defending 1st MCOMMs at Vantage point, pretty mediocre or at least inconsistent on most other scenarios (one exception I can think of is last MCOMMs on Hill 137, when the enemy is pushed back to tactical loitering the MCOMM stations).
Fun as hell lobbing TNT into the MCOMM areas and picking up doubles and triples, then cleaning up hitmarkers with the 870!
