So i played BFBC2 some and i really liked it, but dont own it. i know bad company vietnam is out and i was wondering, is it a whole new game or do you have to have the BFBC2 disc to play it and the vietnam disc is a "map pack"? i really dont know because i am a H4RDC0R3 CoD player and i am getting tired of the lack of realness and teamwork of MW2/B.O. i wanna know cuz i think im gonna buy it if it is a completely different game. I hear ppl say its an expansion pack and idk what that is so ANY help is apprecieated

Expansion means you need to buy the original game, and then you need to buy the expansion pack on top of that to "expand" the game.
From what I hear, BFBC2 is cheap on Steam and occasionally goes on sale for something like $6. Pisses me off because I bought it back in the summer for $50 from Wal-Mart. -_-

You need to own a copy of the original.
I'm guessing you play on XBOX. The Ultimate Edition is 40 bucks now at Amazon, dunno what the normal edition is going for these days.
Also, if you are looking for realism, sorry bro, this is not going to cut it for you.
However, if you are looking to have a good time through slower pace and more teamwork oriented experiences, then I would definitely recommend buying it.
I know you have played it, why would you think that the game is realistic? (BTW: Realism doesn't sell me games).
EDIT: Don't pick up a used copy for over $25. If you do, you need to buy another VIP code on XBL. If you buy it new, the VIP code is included. However, you do get to download all of the maps after you input your VIP code for free.

well i guess im looking for a game where little young kids dont go around quickscoping thinking they are so good when they actually suck. and ppl who constantly dont shut up and keep going on about how i suck and i got "owned" and im a "Fag" and gay because i killed them -_- i want to play a game whereppl use their mics for something other than racial slurs and use them for TEAMWORK! i wanna play with people who are OLDER then the ESRB rating and in BFBC2 it actually was, so i thought i would get vietnam because its newer and different maps/weapons and so on. if you guys know about any other games for ps3 that you think fall into theese categories it would be appreciated

Yes, platform wars. Necessary.

yeah, no, sorry. that came out a little more troll-esque then it was meant. but after playing on all three systems for some time, i was just thinking: if the toppic starter is really valuing teamplay that much, and if he has the choice in platform, why not? there was this thing a while ago where any platform would unlock the operation hastings map after performing 69 million team actions. pc players did it after 9 days. at that point, xbox was at some 20 million actions, ps3 even behind. despite having mor sold copies. again, i don't mean to bash any platform or elevate "mine" above the others. i just thought it might help the original poster.

It wasn't that trollish, and I haven't played enough on my PC account to really tell the difference, honestly. Sorry. I've had more fun on 360 so far, but I can't attribute that to anything too concrete besides the game doesn't seem to run all that well on PC.
There was a rumor that the stat tracking was glitched on PS3 and 360 and that's why DICE unlocked it early for those platforms. I don't know if there's any truth to that rumor.
Regarding teamwork though, my recommendation is simply go to where you have any friends already playing or where you will most easily make friends that play the game. You'll have a much better time playing with people you know.
Making friends would be easier on the PC version just because the text chat goes to the whole team (and the other team, if you so choose).

might be that, or because they didnt want to wait a full month before xbox and ps3-users got it too. be that as it may, what i was going at: pc users had more then three times the team actions performed in the same time. so, if therer is a choice in platform, i'd say pc if teamplay is important for you. but naturally, if you have friends already playing, go with their platform, because it's that much more awesome to play as a squad together with your buddies, and no ammount of public teamwort can beat what the four of you can do there, no matter the platform

I have no idea whether or not people on XBL use teamwork or not, because I have voice chat turned off. I've been called a fag by enough 12 year olds for a lifetime. The constant voice/text messages I get more than satisfy my need to be verbally abused by children. I suspect it's marginally better on PC, because kids can't afford gaming PCs. well i guess im looking for a game where little young kids dont go around quickscoping thinking they are so good when they actually suck. No quickscoping in Black Ops.

they haven't reset don't worry. BFBC2 has had some server issues since Vietnam launched, and often it will say you are level 1 and have never used any gun. It's not lost anything, just not reading it properly. Don't worry, it all comes back. As soon as you are in a game you can use all your guns and all that.

The XBOX server issue that I have been experiencing most is the lack of matchmaking. It is a known bug and they are trying to roll out an update. Still, sometimes I get a "No games found" message, which is highly annoying to me who has already put a great many number of hours and money into this game. Here's to hoping for a server patch for the XBOX, I know for sure that there are more players around than what would struggle to fill up 1 game of Rush.

on ps3, i have had both problems off and on - no matchmaking, and stats gone. just now, though, i noticed - if i log out of the playstation network, and in again, it sometimes fixes either or both. so, my guess is DICE/EA are having server overload problems.
in the US store, vietnam is $15 - and, i gotta say, i don't know why i waited so long to get it. it's almost as if BFBC2 is new again. and, as always, the sound design is great. somehow, the whole music angle draws you in. recommended.

Rolling around in the chopper with the speakers blaring classic rock, both MG's chuggin, rockets whooshing... It's pretty frickin' awesome.
