Looking at the damage charts, I can see that the M95 stands out from the other rifles with regard to how much longer it holds its max damage for. Around 18 metres I think? I was thinking, if you combine Mag Ammo with this rifle, it would stretch the distance the weapon could hit at 100+ damage. But would it stretch it enough to make it decent close (ish) combat weapon? I'm gonna give it a try...

the .4 ADS time makes this harder to actually "railgun" with, but using armor is viable now ...

It does. A 4x scope on a magnum M95 is a pretty satisfying gun to use. Started to prefer slug shotguns for the same purpose, though, due to much higher fire rate. Get used to switching to your pistol the instant you fire.

Yep, 100% what Rax said. It's a pretty fun weapon to use and you'll have some matches where you just go Beast-mode, but it's a pretty corner case kinda situation... Putting a 4x on it makes it near impossible to actually snipe with the thing, you'll have ammo problems, and a slug shotgun will do the same thing, but better.
Still, if you're the kind of person that's going for platinum on every gun then it's a fun way to switch it up and still be semi effective.

I tried this and well, it was crap. Even enemies I thought were pretty close didn't go down in one hit. Nevermind...

The M95 does 68.75 min damage with Magnum Ammo, right? Maybe instead of trying to use it at close range, you could shoot people far away with one shot from the 1911 or REX, then shoot them with a bodyshot.
It would be a lot less noticeable than getting hit by a sniper shot, THEN a pistol shot, methinks.

Maybe, but it's all a bit arty farty really. I really don't like the m95, it feels like such a hefty weapon to use. Which, from a realism point of view, is actually quite good to see.
