Hey Den.
I was wondering if you'd be able to clarify something for me, I've gotten into a small argument on another forum about the camera positioning in the weapons sighted mode.
My argument was that often, with RDS the camera moves further forward to center on the firearms RDS attachment. With the AK for example, you can see that your perspective when sighted is clearly from the rear of the weapon whereas with red dot sight, the camera moves forward.
This can be seen because the 'clip' (not sure of the name) which protrudes out of the right hand side of the AK, when sighted with RDS is much closer to the camera when sighted compared to when sighted with irons.
I was also suggesting that RDS could therefore increase visual recoil by placing the camera closer to a location where the recoil is more noticeable. With the AK rds the camera appears to be much closer to the barrel than with irons, so I figured this was logical.
Am I right or what?
Thanks Den.
PS: Obviously if anyone else wants to try any clear this up for me aside Den that's cool too.

While the observation is correct, the argument isn't very strong.
AK47 and the Red Dot AK47 use different animations when they aim down the sights. The animation of the Red Dot version pulls the weapon closer and tilts the front sight down so that the dot is more clear.
While the weapon is closer, as seen by the cocking handle on the right, the "camera" remains in the same position as with the regular AK. Both still have the same amount of gunkick and viewkick, so even though the Red Dot weapon is closer, there won't be a noticeable visual difference.

Thanks Den. Also if you don't mind... could you answer something else. Do SMG's/AR's/LMG's have different zoom's when sighted?
