okay, so i was wondering if Double Tap has any effect on the FG-42 or the MG-42?
They both sound exactly the same with DT...

Are you really incapable of noticing how fast you run out of ammo? /facepalm DT has no effect on the P90 on consoles because it can't cause a gun to exceed the 1200 rpm cap. It's fair to wonder if it would work on the 42s, since it would cause both of them to exceed the 1200 rpm cap, as well. I've never tried it before (DT = sux), so I don't know whether it raises the RoF to 1200, or if it doesn't raise the RoF at all because it would cause it to exceed the cap. |

The question is, why use it? it has the same TTK as stopping power. But you have the disadvantage of 'seemingly' higher recoil, and a clip running out of juice faster.

there is one thing everybody forgets, and that is the "shake"the opponent gets when hit per bullet... myself I never use DT but I notice it is way harder to shoot back at a DT stg then a SP stg... still I prefer SP but don't forget this little thing.
But for the FG, really, really go for SP so you can get 2 kills per clip (or SoH)

SP is better if every bullet hits your enemy while ADS. DT is better if you miss a few times ADS. DT causes more recoil for you, but also more recoil for the person you are shooting. I say SP is superior, but it could be argued that they are balanced. It seems SP is good for all weapons, while DT makes only low recoil weapons beastly.
As you can see, I don't like double tap.

DT is underpowered compared to Stopping Power. Stopping Power has no drawbacks and reduces ammo consumption. DT increases recoil and ammo consumption. Hell, some guns are worse with DT than they are without a Perk 2.

Yes DT effects the MG42 & FG42
DT has its uses. Most higher end players will take bandoleer regardless so ammo frugalty isn't as much as an issue.
MP40 @ STG are great with DT. I preffer the STG with it greatly. MP40 is much better in duals with DT. facing a controller (and not another mouse user) for every time you get killed in 2 bullets via SP Ill promise you'll return it 4x over.
DT > SP in hardcore in both games. If you play hardcore you should skip SP for DT or SOH

DT > SP in 30 Health Mode in both games. If you play 30 Health Mode you should skip SP for DT or SOH Depends on the gun. Type 100 or Thompson? Go with DT. MP40? Go with SP (SP makes it a 1-shot kill at any range). PPSh? Stopping Power (makes it a 1-shot kill at close range... and DT doesn't affect the PPSh on consoles, anyway). LMGs? Go with DT... except with the FG42 (SP makes it a 1-shot kill at any range). |

Don't forget that the PPSh also becomes a 2 shot kill at medium and long range, instead of 3.

mp40 sucks in hardcore. doesn't have the accuracy fire rate or damage to compete with the other smg's.
ppsh take a round drum and slight of hand. its a quick enough kill without help and youll find yoruself wanting to top it off alot - and not be killed buy a gay-spawn after you plow through several people in quick succession!
DT thompson/type-100, SOH ppsh > SP MP40 in manlycore
i love that matchup every day of the week in HFFA and rape anyone you meet with an mp40. (hffa you tend to see half the MP40 users trading for STG's anyway)
DT on bolt actions really bring them into their own in hardcore also, SP is useless for them.
regular core SP > DT on about anything normal. bullets saved are too precious for the lesser whored weapons.
