simple question: i'm almost positive there's a way to call dogs, die, and have the dog kills start contributing to your next kill streak. sometimes this doesn't happen though. does anyone know the magic formula?
eg: call dogs, die, get a kill before your dogs get any kills call dogs, die, let your dogs kill someone then start getting kills call dogs, let them start getting kills, die, start getting kills etc?
i think you could do the same thing with the helicopter in CoD4.
sorry if this has been covered before. thanks!

This does happen, you should always wait to die before calling them in.. But on WaW, every dogs kill doesn't seem to count towards the streak, more like every 2 or 3 = 1 kill towards streak.
Not sure if theres any formula, but whatever.

In COD4, if you get a chopper then die WITHOUT calling it in, then call it in on your 2ND life, the chopper will get add to your kill streaks,
Example: You are playing Domination on Shipment, you camp with UAV Jammer and a suppressor. You get a 7-kill streak, but die as you are calling the chopper in. You respawn, then hide in a crate to call the helicopter. You decide that the crate you are in is nice and comfortable, so you decide to wait it out. Much to your surprise, you get a UAV, then an Airstrike, then finally another Chopper! You are so excited, that you run out of your crate-house and die. After respawning, you hide in the same crate and call the helicopter yet again. Again, it gets you another chopper.
Bottom line is: Before calling the Helicopter, die.

call dogs & die /die & call dogs (either way same difference). get a kill real ASAP and they'll count. you 1 kill per 2 dog kills (you kill +2 dog kills = recon, etc)
or... just be really good and not die. the farther up the leaderboards you go the more you realize dogs suck. you start getting 0-1 kills for every pack you call. you go play with idiots you may get 10+ per calling, but eh... so far past that it isn't funn!

dogs really don't suck!! you have to support them. when I call the dogs or somebody and I'm playing with my mates everybody takes out their SMG and goes hunting. You need to support them and put some presure at your enemy. they shoot the dogs (wich is quite hard I think, it will cost you some bullets) or the players. and if a dog hits an enemy, the enemy will kill the dog and survive, but if you support them the enemy only needs one bullit before or after the dog bite and it is a kill... If your whole team stays in cover of sniping until your dogs are done, yeah then dogs suck...

i typically throw smoke in spawns / open areas to help the dogs out if im moving on. im just saying my observation. the higher up the leaderboards & better competition you play with the fewer dog kills you'll wind up getting. i call them/have them called plenty in tdm, ffa, htdm, hffa and you're lucky if you get 3 kills out of them.
now if i go level someone else's account. you may get 10-12 per call vs some newbs that don't avoid their spawns and dont do well at killing them. they do good in the tacticle games tho. especially when the enemies are spread out and can't support each other.
heli > dogs vs stiff competition at getting kills dogs > heli because heli's tend to shoot up the top 2 players on the team & that's just a gay penalty against good players!

so you think 3 bonus kills are bad? and don't forget al those assists... if you are playing with teammates especially. You win as a team, and someone who sees somebody get bitten by a dog, can just throw one bullet at him and he is gone... If you count those in aswell it really helps your team win... with at least 3 more kills for the team. (wish is not bad, because they are free...) and often you get more. If you are playing aganst dogs with good players I always have the feeling I play against more players... And you really are, and that is the strengt of the dogs IMO. you can follow them and they will lead you to an opponent, they clear betties for you, they are likely to kill snipers, they give you assists, and sometimes they also kill something. So, why is that bad? ^_^

i wouldn't deny getting a couple of kills from seeing a dog change directions suddenly, or trying to steal dog kills. my points is that its not a big deal! drop in the bucket so to say.
a pair of kills aint a hill of beans, i dont struggle to get plenty.
what im saying is they're vastly over-rated by new players.
when you climb into good matches you're not going to help yourself that much with dogs. they quit killing 5-10 people per call and as much as they'll kill 1-2 people theyll kill 0 people. people remember too vividly when the game came out/when every they were a newb & seemed to get killed by them alot.
in a good game they're a minor nusance, not a major OMG THEY GOT DOGS RUN IN THE CORNER AND HOLE UP AND SHOOT THEM! WTF ARE THEY COMING FROM!!!!
eventually you get to play with players that understand where they spawn, how many spawn, that they run to the nearest player, have headphones on and deal with them at the appropriate moment instead of freaking out and realize they only take 1-2 shots to kill!

dude, do you really really think you are that good and we all suck? ofcaurse they dont get 10 kill anymore... but what is wrong with 3/4 and some betty clearance? and if you get 0, you just can't support them with your team... that just means for me you are not that good after al.... It is anoying to play against them when you also have to kill the other players who are as good as you are... I know you only play with peaple who are not as good as you because you are like god so good!!!! but we, the noobs of this game need every little help we can get because we suck. (and we don't use a mouse to get an advantage...)

"the higher up the leaderboards & better competition you play with the fewer dog kills you'll wind up getting."
You could just as easily say
"the higher up the leaderboards & better competition you play with the fewer kills you'll wind up getting."
Of course you're going to get less kills against better players. A pro playing with newbs can go 75-0, but that would never happen if he was playing against other pros.

ya. AFA not getting as many kills up the leaderboard thats not *entirely* the case. the matchmaking servers look at win/loss ratio alot more than it does kdr. i just started a new cod4 account for a friend. i went on a 30-0 win streak right out of the gate and wound up playing with some very stiff competitio with some very shitty teams till it fell back in line.
conz. to be absoluely specific. when youve got a > 2:1 kdr in W@W without touching an M40 (regardless of the sit/playstyle) and you're getting 25-35+ kills in TDM at never any worse than a 2:1kdr (mostly higher) and you're doing 40+ kills with 5:1+ ratios in dom
having afew dog kills is not a drop in the bucket to the work you're doing without them. im not trying to sound harsh, but they just not that effective once you start playing newbs.
