So, I've been following this website for a while now, I've found it extremely useful. I have seen one or two things about airstrikes being a little off target, but this was just absolutely ridiculous.
My question is, why do airstrikes sometimes cause to be off-target, and how the heck did it get me all the friggin way up there?

Worst thing ever:
I'm playing HC SnD on Ambush, tied 3 to 3. I get 5 kills during that last round, and I had my UAV up. I call in the airstrike on B, right on top of the enemy, while I'm planting at A. It kills me at A. I can't explain in words how angry I was.

Happened to me yesterday, TDM on Crossfire, I set the airstrike to the bottom of the map and I take cover behind a counter in the bottom floor of the top of the map to watch my airstrike do some damage.
Die.
What's annoying is I've planted them really close to me before and lived through it plenty of times.

If the jet icon passes over you, expect to be bombed.
No matter how far away you placed it, those straggling few cluster bombs go really far especially on COD4's small maps.
