Where is the bullet going on the Red dot site?
I assume it would be similar for the Aperture.
Also I remember in a previous thread that some guns (I think 2) had a very weird iron sight. The bullet did not fire on the tip of the sight. I think they were MG's.
I wouldn't be surprised if my mind was making the last one up but I definitely want an answer for the first one.
EDIT: What about shotguns while sighted in? It still seems to burst how accurate is that?

The Springfield has the bullet go in the middle of that line separating the light and dark part of the sight post. The Nambu has the shot go slightly above and to the left of the sight post. For red dot sights, the shot goes pretty much perfectly in the center. Shotguns become less accurate while sighted, so you should never use sights on shotguns.

1. I'm sure RDS, the middle of the dot is what will hit.
2. Yes, with some irons the sights are a little off, there is a thread on it, first page I think.
3. Shotguns aimdownsight is still a burst, the iron on the shotgun will be the centre of the burst but the burst radius isn't affected by aimdownsight (Den might need to clear that up)

the absolute center of the RDS from there lag + autoaim + bullet flight time Bullet flight time? What the fuck are you talking about? Hitscans move at an infinite velocity.

In COD4 all the guns shoot at a square 2x2 pixels at the top center and the one to the left on every sight. ( I think snipers are different hitting exactly in the center. IDK) That would be right above the tip of the chevron and also right above the red dot on the RDS. denkirson.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=361 this is a better thread for this IMO.

the absolute center of the RDS from there lag + autoaim + bullet flight time Bullet flight time? What the FFFF are you talking about? Hitscans move at an infinite velocity. if you record a video and watch it frame by frame, 1-2 frames after you fire a bullet comes out. WIth an acog sniper if someone is running by you at the right angle and you fire on say the last 1/4 of their body (relative to how they are running) you can see the bullet fly right by them LoL! Unless someone cracks the game engine I DO NOT think the weapons are hit-scan. they just seem like it because it's happening in like... no more than 30-60 ms on console (recording 1-2 frames @ 30fps) That would explain ALOT of the lag misses I see. From MY console's screen I fired & hit the fucker, but he had moved out of the way in 1-2-3 frames.

its true, theres alot of times when your sniping were you shoot someone right on their ass and it takes like a frame or two for it to register. heres an example, watch the slo-mo part and take notice of where i shoot the second shot.

It's definitely hitscan though the tracer animation isn't. Input lag already forces you to aim far enough ahead (or click before getting on target) to simulate a 100 yard shot.
Don't tell me there's anti input lag...

What you are referring to is lag. I wasn't suggesting that the game uses hitscans. I was TELLING you that the game DOES use hitscans.

The game DOES use hitscans.
Den DID crack the code.
LAG and BULLETS NOT REGISTERING is what causes you to miss when you know the shot was accurate.
The tracer effects are obviously NOT hitscan, but they are also NOT where the bullet travels.

im def not saying den is wrong, b/c if den has cracked the the exe works then he's the expert! however.... if it were 100% hit scan and someone was lagging 10 seconds. If I were to pop them on the last pixel of their hitbox; on their screen they would run for 10 seconds. then drop dead IMMEDIATELY back where i shot him. Ive never felt it in game, but more importantly ive never seen it in slow mo or captures when you go through them frame by frame.
Unreal Tournament's Instagib rifles are 100% hitscan. COD does not feel 100% hitscan. It feels like Infiltraiton for UT felt. What your bullets fly out and touch is what they hit (not hit-scan from. maybe they have the animation engine cover everything up, but it does not "feel" like a hitscan game to me. never has.

tbh, I have had situations where I'm experiencing extreme lag (my comp is downloading or someone is stealing my bandwidth :\) and I will be running along, choppy and confusing as it is, and I'll suddenly die for no apparent reason just to realize I had been sniped when I ran across the street a moment ago.
It is very aggravating.
I think the reason it might not feel like hitscan is because of the amount of antilag in the game. Also, you do have to lead the target a little because the hitboxes are actually a little bit ahead of their in-game model.
It also seems like you can lead shots on host and get kills, sometimes.

It definitely feels like a hitscan game to me. And the bullet animations are not hitscans, they are to create an illusion of authenticity.
