Is there any way to get a picture of a soldier model with the hitbox(s) superimposed in wireframes over the model of the soldier? I don't know if that info is on the discs or not, but it sure would be nice to have a little more understanding of the hitbox sizes. I mean something very simple, like this... I know that box gets larger with distance. lol On some sniper shots it feels like THIS!... Thanks a million.

lol I'd call that an accurate representation for the snipers. When I snipe I get more headshots than non-headshots from extreme distances where there's so much bullet drop it's all just luck, and when I get that one shot kill I get this crooked smile saying "I didn't deserve that, but I'll take it"

Maybe it's not the hitbox that is so large, but the bullet itself? I know COD uses infinitely thin laser beams, but is it possible that BF bullets actually have a thickness to them? Sure feels that way when sniping, like you guys said.

Doesn't it bug you though? oh it definitely does bother me a lot when I'm the one being sniped. There's so many times I'm like "there's absolutely no way, with the physics and bullet travel and bullet drop in this game, that he got a 1 shot headshot at that distance" and it happens more than it doesn't. It's annoying. The Recon class in general is just very annoying.

I think it's cheap on both ends. Hey Den, have you seen this thread yet?

Well, I've heard talk that the longer a player is stationary, the larger their headshot hitbox grows. Kind of a subtle counter-sniping mechanism. Of course, I could be completely wrong.

To compensate for that they added lags instead, forcing you to predict where enemy will be on impact.

A good example of that is a guy proning in front of you and aiming 45 degrees up to your head. The guns are basically aimed straight forward and the bullets still go 45 degrees up.

The hit detection is TOO good. So good that it's off the charts! We're talking about very distant shots with sniper rifles. It's giving us headshots when it shouldn't.

Actually I've been thinking about the sniper issue for a while and although I've yet to do any conclusive testing, just from normal pub play it appears that a percentage of non-headshot sniper hits will instantly kill you. Ever noticed how you seem to kill a lot of people with body shots when sniping? I've been sniped dozens of times where I've been on 100% but died instantly, and the display says it wasn't a headshot. I wonder if DICE is aware of it...

from what i heard the "enhanced" hitbox mechanic is in place only in consoles, to make up for wobbly thumbstick aim. though it's just hearsay, i've yet to read any official statement about that.
on pc i've never noticed any head hitbox discrepancies myself. (of course hit detection in general is pretty awefull with the mechanics being handled clientside)

It happens more often on big servers or servers that have a bunch of people spotting. Happens to me too with my limited sniping experience.

First thing that sprang to mind was Call of Duty's 'neck' hitbox which had headshot multipliers but didn't get you any little headshot icon

Read my post again. I'm talking about dying instantly from 100% health. Sorry... I get it too sometimes when two laggy people take sniper potshots at me at the same time. If you've gotten it and can confirm only one guy did it... I do wonder.

Sometimes it seems like I die too by a single sniper bodyshot.
On the other hand, sometimes I get hit by name whatever weapon and I don't notice anything. No suppression, no blur, no ow, just nothing. But I do lose health.
Might be that, or that damage bug from the beta is still there

Sure, but the "headshot" notification won't pop up on those. At least it's not supposed to. The game is not honest.
