Greetings Den,
I've been such a fan since COD4 & W@W but have never registered. After searching the NET, I haven't found a TRUE answer to my question, and frankly I trust your site the most for giving accurate results, so why not post my question here?
Question: Red Dot vs Holographic sights...is there any difference other than graphical aesthetics?
I read somewhere that in colsoles, Holographic sights adds to Aim Assist (I can only assume auto-aim). But for PC...aim assist does not exits right? If this is true, then you are essentially working harder to get less, since the Holographic sights take up more real estate. Is there something missing in my logic?
You are my bro, bro.

pretty much true except holo sight has a smaller red dot surrounded by a rind so it doesn't hide players heads until a much greater range. I'd still go rds on pc tho.

Don't know for certain, but doesn't the Holographic sight give you a "stickier" auto-aim effect? The red dot does too, but it seems better on the Holographic.

on PC autoaim exists, but is generally only enabled when using a non-mouse (joystick) aiming device.

I've noticed (on PC at least) that the recoil is a bit different between the holographic and the red dot when aimed down the sights.
It could be a way to balance it out a bit, or it could be a perceived effect with it possibly changing the FOV
IMO, the holographic is useless on machine pistols, it blocks more of your view
