I'd gotten a key earlier last week, just in time for the Saturday beta period.
That time was spent shooting bugs on the beach and losing connection.

Though... I'll probably miss many of Firefall's beta phases.

Got in a squad of people to do Small Thumpers yesterday. With a L10 recon and 2 L5 assaults (me included) it was quite the breeze. Also, saw some people farming the incursion thingy, and decided to blow up that ship twice with the AA provided at the base (not the base at Cocacabana).
How doth one get a small thumper? Has a bigger thumper been implemented?

My character name is Brosagi, just like my forum name. Finally got around to putting it here on the forums. It seems like I spend more time scanning for minerals than anything else though, 90% of all the nodes I find are just 100% Sifted Earth that I get 1001 Sifted Earth from.

I've managed to resurrect my "psijaka" character (had problems recreating this after deleting it when I got stuck on the Silicate mission some while back).
So I will now mostly be playing as "psijaka".
Give me a shout if you see me in game.

I can never remember what button brings up your friends list. Are there any notifications that tell you if someone on your friends list goes online?

I've made a new character. You can see me on FireFall as "MannonC" now. I'd have just used "Mannon" but it was taken. O,o heh I shoulda made a "Mannon" char as soon as I got in the beta. No worries, though. At least it's consistent.
So far pretty much just running around as a medic to keep me and my GF alive. I'm having a slightly hard time acclimating her to the game.

I can give you one when the next wave of keys come out. Character wipes are coming soon so it makes sense that they'll make a huge update and hand out keys to everyone already in the beta.

I wouldn't mind getting into this game, but unfortunately my poor, old computer probably can't handle it... I can't play the Tribes beta on absolute minumum settings because I get a single-digit framerate, even on the menu screen.

You need to find a tweaked ini for Tribes. It can be taken down to even lower levels than the UI allows. I could pass mine along. It's pretty minimal, but keeps the game playable for me. I did keep shadows in there and even made them visible at longer ranges because I find them useful for guessing heights. But I made them really low resolution.
As for FireFall I have to dumb it down to minimums all the way across and 50% dynamic resolution. I'm running a maximized window with 720p desktop resolution so the game res is a bit lower than that and 3D resolution 50% of that even, so it's very blocky. But it does work, with some graphical glitches.

Without the modified ini I can't even start the game because my computer doesn't even support some settings. It's just a really fucking old computer that I need to replace, but that costs money I don't have. I might be able to get a job this summer and save up, but nothing's guaranteed. Looked up my PC specs-this thing has an AMD Athlon dual-core 3800+ processor and 1982 MB of RAM. I don't know too much about PC tech, but that's usually enough to run older games on minimal settings. It just can't handle Tribes. I can't find any minimum specs for FireFall, but it would probably be pretty sluggish. |

Prolly could use a few more gig of RAM, but your CPU doesn't sound too ancient compared to mine. (Dual Core 2.4GHz) Probably you mainly need a new video card. Something I too require.
FireFall is probably not really an option for now then, sorry.
