The patch notes mentioned that the guided missiles will now lock on faster and can lock onto laser designated targets from a greater distance. However, the patch notes did not mention anything about the guided missiles damage. I have been performing some tests with the guided missiles in the SU-35BM against the M1 Abrams. I fired the missiles at the front, side and rear of the tank, and this is what I found.
Front: The guided missile consistently deals 50% damage to the tank.
Side: The missile does 58% damage about 2/3 of the time, 50% damage about 1/3 of the time.
Rear: The missile does 66% damage about 2/3 of the time, 50% damage about 1/3 of the time.
Soflam: The missile deals 50% damage to the tank no matter what side it hits. I believe this is the same damage the guided missile did to soflamed targets before the patch and they forgot to change it.
What this means? The guided missile now has its 1 hit disable ability back from the beta. Whether this is a good thing or a bad thing is for you to decide.
Note: There were some abnormalities in the testing. One time the missile only did 10% damage, another time it did 49%. Also, has anyone else noticed that your player will start regenerating health after 10 seconds now instead of 16? I dont think the patch notes mentioned that either...
