Hey guys, just found this forum, espicially find the weapon data very interesting, was doing some calculations on my favourite guns for bullets needed to kill and time taken to kill. However alot of the time i use silencers or FMJ on my guns, so for fair figures i need to know what they do to the guns.
Ok i know silencers reduce the range on guns, therefore reducing damage at different points, but does it reduce the range by a certain amount, by a percentage or down to a certain range??
Also on the weapon graphs (inaccurate i know) it shows FMJ adds damage, does it actually? is it by a percentage or by a fixed amount??
Any help is most appreciated ;D

FMJ IS Deep Impact from CoD4, so no damage increase.
Silencers effect different weapon classes differently. Snipers and LMGs get straight up damage reductions. It seems like snipers get reduced from 70 to 50 damage and LMGs lose 10 damage from their original damage.
Assault rifles, SMGs, pistols, and machine pistols suffer range reductions. All of them are fairly insignificant except for assault rifles, which essentially lose 10 damage in medium and medium-long range, but are not affected much at close or long range.

The SMG range reduction is actually very significant. It pretty much guarantees that the SMG will be dealing minimum damage at all but the closest of ranges (i.e. if you're close enough to hipfire, you're dealing more than minimum damage... if you have to ADS, then you're dealing minimum). The silencer pretty much makes all SMGs useless except for the UMP (3-shot kill without SP, while all other SMGs are 5 shot kills without SP and 4 shot kills with SP) or the P90 (for that 50-bullet clip and huge RoF).

Don't know for certain, but I suspect that aside from just being deep impact, I believe FMJ also increases the range of max damage, the opposite of what a silencer does. Maybe somebody could test this.

I was using a scar-h silenced last night in a private game and I swear it was 3 and 4 shots from range without stopping power.
That would mean it was still doing 40-30, I'm going to test this again.

Confirmed: The SCAR-H will do 40-30 damage with a silencer, without stopping power.
Is it possible that the silencer will only effect stopping power at long range?

The silenced SCAR is a one shot kill in HC at any range, so it does at least 30 damage min.

I think you are misunderstanding the effects of a silencer. It only reduces damage on LMGs and Sniper Rifles. On every other gun, it simply reduces range, meaning Min and Max damage are unchanged, just the distances you will deal them at. Silencers have no effect on Stopping Power. It still multiplies damage by 1.4.

I already knew that, on COD4 and WAW but because silencers are now doing damage reductions on snipers and LMG and it used to on the AK, I thought maybe it was every gun that got a damage nerf.
