Is it just me or does the grenade launcher fail more often than it did in MW1 and W@W? I mean I understand that the chance for a dud goes up when closer to an enemy but i've had so many medium range shots end up as duds... it's very frustrating. I'll go for splash damage by shooting it into a wall or something near my opponent and... nothing!

Precisely. I also use it when its my first attachment and when I'm trying to unlock a shotgun attachment and when I'm using it I've noticed that I get a lot of dud shots verses what I know I got in W@W and I think i got in MW1. I rarely used it in Modern Warfare 1 except when it was my first available attachment and since I never prestiged in that game I haven't used it in a while in that game so its hard to compare.

I was recently boosting myself in splitscreen offline(it's ridiculous that they make you go through all 70 levels) and to get Danger Close Pro I used an M203 and Thumper with Scavenger(SnD, unlimited lives and time limit, they spawn in the same spot every time).
Anyway, while constantly noob tubing and thumping I noticed that some shots that were clearly close enough to kill both guys would do absolutely nothing. The grenade would explode but there would be no hit marker and they would not die. Maybe it was just the placement of the shot. I could have shot between two scavenger packs or something, blocking the explosion's "line of sight" to them. I once hit a counter top not two feet behind them and they didn't die(it was the Ranger's SnD spawn on Highrise).
What's up with this?

I was recently boosting myself in splitscreen offline(it's ridiculous that they make you go through all 70 levels) I don't know if it there are equivalents across the board, but when you do split screen on PS3, in the Game Setup options there's an option, "PlayStation Network Unlocks," which lets you use your online profile in split screen. Your guests are still screwed, but it's nice to have when you want to do testing.

I was just commenting on how someone without Xbox Live or PSN would be totally screwed when it comes to unlocking everything, but I guess it's better than only a handful of pre-made classes.

I've noticed ever since COD4 that a lot of things block LOS in wierd ways. That was why I eventually gave up on Flashbangs, because I'd throw one into a room, and a guy behind a shelf or something would be protected from the blast despite being able to SEE the flashbang going off.
