Has anyone worked a table or anything of what guns can share ammo? I benefited greatly in CoD4 by having an M9 sidearm all the time, for when I picked up dead guys' MP5s and Mini Uzis, keeping me from having to waste a slot on bando.
It doesn't look like the MP5K and the M9 can share ammo anymore, even though they're both listed as 9mm Parabellum.
I'm willing to work it out myself, but if I don't have to redo work that's already been done, that's always preferable.
You are my bro, bro.

Only identical weapons with identical attachments can share ammo. If you've got an M4/RDS and you kill someone who also has M4/RDS, you can pick up their ammo. If they have an M4/ACOG, you cannot. Primaries and Secondaries also do not share ammo any longer, even when they fire the same ammo.

Yeah it's kind of silly, really. I had akimbo M9s and killed someone who was in Last Stand. It wouldn't let me pick up the bunch of M9 ammo he dropped, which pissed me off because I was almost out.
What I try to do is find where I previously died to pick up my ammo from before. That's your best hope of getting ammo without Scavenger.

Speaking of Scavenger, I've noticed that it seems a bit unreliable. Sometimes I'll kill someone and not get a reload from them. What's up with that?

For Scavenger you have to pick up the blue bags that appear near the bodies.

If you drop your weapon and pick up theirs, Scavenger will pick up ammo off their body since the weapon you are now holding matches the weapon their body was using.

Out of curiousity, if you pick up the weapon, then set it down, will you keep the ammo?
i.e., for the person with the Akimbo M9s who found a single M9 laying down... If you switched to your primary weapon,. swapped it for the single M9, then picked your primary back up again, would your akimbo M9s have more ammo?

NO and no ammo charing is not that weird... Have you ever seen somebody emptying a M9 mag, to put the bullets back into a mp5 mag in the middle of a firefight? You could really use slight of hand for that...

Qupie, everybody knows ammo sharing between different weapons is silly. But how the hell is ammo sharing between THE SAME WEAPONS WITH DIFFERENT ATTACHMENTS silly?

Not to mention that the M4, M16, F2000, TAR, and ACR all use the same MAGAZINE, not just the same ammunition, so there's no reason they shouldn't be able to share ammo.

I think they did it on first hand so a gun with non FMJ ammo can not suply bullets for a gun with. and to make it easy, you just cant share any ammo other then the exact attachments or something like that.

I think they did it not only because of Scavenger, but also not to give the already popular guns yet another advantage over unpopular guns. In COD4, it was nigh impossible to run out of ammo with an M16 because everyone had that type of ammo.
