This map is Terminal, and the airplane has been labeled for reference, the vertical Red Line to the left of the image is the target (the glass windows of the building), and the Red Arrows represent the direction of fire. The wide Pink Box at the left of the pic is the aggregate range for all shotguns, the small Pink Box at the right of the pic (on the wing of the airplane) is the max range of the Shotgun mounted on an Assault Rifle; its range is as far as an un-silenced Assault Rifle, and shoots 6 pellets (dealing a total of ~130 damage). The Yellow Box is the range of the SMGs, the Blue Box is the range of the Assault Rifles.
The letter "S" is labeled in each box to remind you that the left edge of the box represents the weapon's range when it's 'Silenced' and still deals its max damage.
The letter "N" is labeled in each box to remind you that the right edge of the box represents the weapon's range when it's 'Not-Silenced' and still deals its max damage.
As an in-game reference: the max range of an un-silenced Assault Rifle (just before it starts to lose damage) is right behind the airplane's engine. As you can see from the pic, an un-silenced SMG deals its max damage at the same range as when a silenced Assault Rifle deals its max damage - to rephrase what was just said: a silenced Assault Rifle has the same range as an un-silenced SMG. I recommend that you all load up this multiplayer map (Terminal) and stand behind the airplane's engine and aim at the glass windows on the building (labeled as the vertical Red Line in the pic) to better understand how far an Assault Rifle's range is.
...And for all you 30 Health Mode (game type) players you may be temped to use the Assault Rifle's mounted shotgun (due to it's ridiculous range), and you'll be surprised at some of the kills you can get with it; but in reality it doesn't seem to be any more effective than hip-firing with your Assault Rifle (i.e. spraying and praying).
The following Shotgun damage was tested at point blank range. Silenced shotguns have their range reduced by 30%, their damage is not affected. Note that I have applied numerical values for their "Range," but they are NOT any official measurement, but are in fact totally estimated in Feet, their values are just a way for you to compare them numerically. The on-screen reticule when hip firing varies a small amount between small -> med -> large.
SPAS-12 200+ 8 pellets. Range 35. Hip Spread medium
AA-12 130 8 pellets. Range 26. Hip Spread large
Striker 140 6 pellets. Range 30. Hip Spread medium
Ranger 200+ 6 pellets. Range 20. Hip Spread medium
M1014 200+ 8 pellets. Range 28. Hip Spread medium
Model 1887 200+ 6 pellets. Range 40. Hip Spread small
Shotgun mounted under an Assault Rifle 130 6 pellets. Range 90. Hip Spread medium
Shotguns that deal 200+ damage do NOT need Stopping Power, because at their max range it only takes 2 (sometimes 3) hits to kill a target at the center of your reticule. ...I haven't tested the less-damaging shotguns at their max range, but Stopping Power isn't needed for the 200+ shotguns.
...There seems to be a designers flaw with the SPAS-12, FMJ does NOT work with it; when you equip it with FMJ it doesn't show the fireworks from FMJ when you shoot a wall or make the sound effects, it just makes larger holes in the wall. You will not be able to penetrate walls better with FMJ on the SPAS-12!
Here's a tip for the Stealth Bomber: it drops an unlimited number of bombs as it flies over the map, so always choose its entry point to be from the EDGE of the map - this will ensure maximum destruction as it bombs everything in its path.
Disclaimer: it is not yet known if range is consistent between maps... Which means range may be scaled differently between maps, and this pic should be used as a reference for range between weapons (not between maps).
