i wasnt keeping track of moves and assumed that throughout that, hitmontop had run out of close combats or something. then he uses CC at the very end and my jaw fu cking dropped... Tell me about it. I laughed so hard when I realised that he never actually ran out of Close Combats. The guy wasn't the smartest of players ;D

Yeah, I mean hitmontop is scary because it is a support device that can function in so many different offensive ways. People always always assume it has at least one strong fighting move. One of my favorite tricks is to use it with sucker punch + dark gem for the guaranteed Lati KO.
But the above assumptions people make about hitmontop also make supportmontop intimidating without even needing any attacking moves.

I usually send in Chandelure with Fire Blast / Overheat or Meloetta with Psychic on Hitmontop. Speaking of which, Meloetta is one specially-bulky bitch. That girl can take a pounding. I'll leave the rest to your imagination.
Even though she isn't my favourite Pokémon, I always make sure there's a spot for Meloetta on my team. She's quite the tank when it comes to special attacks - and she can dish them out equally as hard too. Not to mention that when Scarfed she OHKO's Heracross. God I love my Meloetta.

Has Stealth Rock been banned yet? I stopped playing competitive after 3rd gen, because 4th gen just ruined the game.

First time I've used Weavile for a few months. Now I remember why I used to use it often. As long as it doesn't take a hit, 120 Attack and 125 Speed with Swords Dance is just God-like: www.pokemonshowdown.com/replay/uu-18431164

I liked how most of the match was just normal, then you started getting hammered by Cresselia, then you spammed Flare Blitz and won. Me on the other hand, my Flygon became confused at the end of turn 17 - but I managed to hit all 3 of my next attacks without hurting myself in confusion. I was in awe. I never hit the enemy whilst I'm confused usually! pokemonshowdown.com/replay/uu-19141563

Anybody else pumped for XY? YES SIR. Pokémon X and Y have been the center of my attention for months now! Everyone over on the Bulbagarden Forums is desperate for Sylveon's type (and Xerneas/Yveltal's type to a lesser extent) but I'm waiting for the final starter evolutions to be released. Chespin's my favourite base form, but I'll ultimately decide based on the final evolutions.

So yay or nay for new typing?
I say yay, because I loved the new dynamics it introduced in G/S/C.

So yay or nay for new typing? I say yay, because I loved the new dynamics it introduced in G/S/C. Personally I don't really care if we get a new type or not. As for the wider audience though, I think a new type does have some potential. If we do get a new type, Fairy seems to be the most likely - and I'm fine with that. I also like the idea of a Sound type, although I know that's EXTREMELY unlikely based on what I've been hearing about Fairy. Speaking of Fairy, we've probably been hearing the same things, but here's what I've heard about it: - Fairy Pokémon;
- Weak to Poison, Steel - Immune to Dragon - Fairy attacks;
- Strong against Dragon, Dark, Fighting - Resisted by Fire, Psychic - Fairy re-typed Pokémon;
- (There were too many to list, but most are on this image)

Toward the start of this battle my opponent was talking shit to me. He was probably just joking, but for whatever reason I read it as trash-talking and aggressive toward me. He kept stalling for SO long, and in the end it came down to a 1v1; my Togekiss vs his Slowking. Luckily I won though Watch all 66 turns if you have time to spare: pokemonshowdown.com/replay/uu-21501319

That porgyon had trick room, recover, magic coat, and charge beam. he literally had zero means of killing your flygon. I didn't keep Flygon in because I couldn't break through his Porygon2. I can't remember what I tried instead, but Flygon couldn't break through, so I was trying to get other Pokémon in. bro how many turns you gonna burn roosting like that I don't know why I kept Roosting, I just did

the new overhead view and battle scenes look kind of weird, but they don't look bad really. I guess it is cool that they're trying something new with it, the graphics seem to be a lot smoother than the ones in pearl/diamond. Fairy type sounds strange, but it's cool that they're adding a new type, I was wondering why they hadn't added another one before. I still need to get a 3DS, and then decide which letter I like more

Well he could be used in OU if it weren't for the fact that it's resistances pretty much make up the entire tier, Rain teams, Rain, rock, Heatran, dragon spam... THen there's the fact that it's speed tier is almost good, but because it's on 95 it doesn't get the great 100 speed that you need for a hard hitter in the tier. Darmanitan hits like a truck, it just can't cut it in the OU tier because although he's certainly aggressive enough for the tier he just has a horrible typing for the tier (which isn't helped at all by the fact that Ninetales is by far the shittiest auto weather setter, I'd even rate Obamsnow above it).
The problem (if it is a problem at all) is that the UU tier is deprived of defensive pokemon because the higher tiers poached them. You have Cress, Umbreon gligar snorlax and porygon, those are the main culprits. In the higher tiers, Donphan is in OU for god knows what reason ice shard is nice but if that's the only move then it's a fucking shitty reason if you ask me, Tentacruel is in OU solely for the fact that it's a good spinner in rain teams, I can see Vaporeon and Celbi dropping too. The strength of competitive pokemon is tiering based on usage, but imo there is room for some pokemon high in usage to fall down to lower tiers if they won't be broken there, and as a rule of thumb defensive pokemon have to go out of their way to break a tier (chansey anyone?).
PS there are plenty of offensive tanks, Rhyperior, Suicune, Swampert, Snorlax to name a few, and to some extent UU is based around sweepers, and tanks who can come in and take a hit then hit something hard, and set up users who force a switch to get a calm mind or a swords dance up.

Life Orb Weavile is currently my favourite UU sweeper, and there are two main ways this goes down:
1. - Remove physical tanks and Fighting-types - Switch in Weavile on a Gligar, Roserade, Xatu, etc - Grab a Swords Dance as the opponent switches - Defile everything with Night Slash and Ice Punch - Low Kick anything bulky or resisting such as Snorlax, Registeel, Empoleon, etc
2. - Send out Weavile immediately - Swords Dance on the Stealh Rock/Spikes - (Swords Dance 1/2 more times again if they go for more Spikes) - Swords Dance on the switch - Absolutely WRECK everything with Night Slash and Ice Punch at x2/x3/x4 Attack
Base 125 Speed AND base 125 Attack just brings a tear of joy to my eyes.
