Please post anything that you think would be useful to a Firefall noob such as myself.

For PvE:Recommended beginner classes Assault or Biotech. Assault: Plasma Cannon splash damage is great for dealing with groups of smaller bugs, and Crater is beast for clearing thumpers before you send them away. Use the Assault Rifle for the bigger bugs; go for the head for the 1.5x bonus. Biotech: good because you get the Grenade Launcher for splash damage. Needler main gun pretty good for the big guys and you can self heal with it if you find a safe high spot to shoot down on the larger critters. Poison cloud good too. Engineer not bad but no Grenade launcher in tier 1. Turrets are good if you put them up out of the way on a tree, cliff, building etc. Tesla Rifle very satisfying to use up close. Dread not for me really; fine if you like to get in close and spray. Tough at least but slow. Recon difficult in PvE for beginners. Low health and no regen available in tier 1. General tips - Regenerative plating is King in PvE. Invaluable; equip Astrak Regen plating as soon as you can; even regen at 10hp/sec makes a huge difference. Keep on the move and jet around; most bugs are ground based; you have jetpacks. Nuff said! Team up with others; don't be afraid to ask for help, or to ask questions. Most beta testers like to help out if they can. See ya in game

Resource gathering:
Surface deposits are a pretty lucrative and easy source of resources for crafting and for turning into crystite. Craft lots of sonic detonators.
Earn crystite by refining low value "white" resources; 500 of the resource gives >500 crystite. You'll need 7500 crystite to unlock a tier 2 frame so start saving!
Hang on to any Blue and Purple quality resources (high number=high quality); these are high value and will be useful once you get to Tier 2. Keep green stuff too unless you have a lot of it, in which case turn it into crystite.
Learn where the different resources can be found.
Coralite - green - around Copacabana. Ferrite - orange - South of Copa. Quartzite - purple - around Trans Hub. Bismuth - pale blue green - South of Trans Hub in the mountains. Silicate - pinkish red - just to the NE of Copa, in the woods. Brimstone - yellow - In the far north west. Azurite - blue - rare; found next to the melding. Edit - node locations and availability have changed drastically; ignore the above. Don't overlook resource loot drops from bugs and from supply crates.
Thumping not really that lucrative at the moment, but fun and a good source of XP.

Consumables and calldowns:
Ammo packs and Health packs good value. Health packs really useful if you don't have regen.
Make Sonic Detonators by the hundred. You can never have enough.
Avoid the Battleframe Station calldown! Expensive to make and you only get to use it once!
Scanhammer can be used as a weapon against groups of smaller bugs; it has a small cone shaped area of effect.
Thumpers - stick to the standard thumper until you know what you are doing. And get out of the way when it lands. Instant death!

If you would like one, just send me your email address by personal message and I'll get one issued to you (it's not just as simple as me sending a beta key number).
