I've been using the silenced TAR a lot, and I was wondering what other bros' thoughts would be on switching to the silenced P90. I've tried the UMP, but the fact that it has more recoil, worse iron sights, and a lower ROF than the TAR made the TAR the clear winner. I think I'm probably going to stick with the TAR in the end, but like I said, just curious as to other opinions.

The ACR, for example. With that said, if you're looking for a good HC gun, I prefer the SCAR to the TAR. The silenced AUG is also very nice, and the FAL is very sexy. Also, you might be selling the UMP short- full movement speed while ADS is quite nice, and the recoil is irrelevant since it's a 1-shot kill.

Best smgs For hc are ump for damage and vector for control. 50 round clips shouldn't be necessary for hc because guns kill so fast.

Vector can't one shot in close range, though, and the 50 round mag is great if you run into a lot of people at once. SCAR fires too slow, LMGs are pretty much pointless in HC (except the unsilenced M240), the FAL is garbage (if full auto one shot kill guns exist, why use the FAL?), and the UMP's recoil makes it very hard to use at range unless you precisely aim every single bullet, which you rarely have time to do. But yeah, full ADS movement is awesome.

The FAL is no more garbage in HC than the G3 was in MW1. Both guns are fan-freaking-tastic for anyone who's not a sprayer. Going full auto increases the chances of misses and does more to alert enemies, whereas a silenced FAL is total stealthmode. You hit the nail on the head with the UMP. The recoil makes it very hard to use at range, so you have to single-shot it. Problem solved.

The G3 had awesome ironsights and MUCH lower recoil than the FAL.

Also, the SCAR has very low recoil and great iron sights. I find it to be like a full auto G3 while the FAiL is a slightly better M14. I don't miss much, so I don't really alert enemies when firing. Single-shotting is very undesirable, especially when you are being shot at, so the UMP is a no. The MG4 fires much slower than the M240, and the AUG fires much slower than either. The AUG is totally inferior to the SCAR except for magazine size, which is much less important in Hardcore. The M240 fires hella fast and is far and away the best LMG for Hardcore. I don't even understand how you could dispute that, unless you don't know the rates of fire of these guns.

I don't even understand how you could dispute that, unless you don't know the rates of fire of these guns. There's more to guns in HC than RoF- accuracy still matters. One of two things is always true- either the first shot hits (in which case RoF is wholly irrelevant, because all three LMGs have a TTK of 0), or else the first shot misses. If the first shot misses, then firing quickly is good, but firing ACCURATELY is also important. It doesn't matter how quickly you can miss your second shot, it matters how quickly you can LAND your second shot. The MG4 is a lot better at sweeping across the target rather than aiming precisely (because the recoil doesn't jump you up and over the target), and the AUG is cool because you can silence it and still get a 1-shot kill.

No reason to use the silenced AUG over the silenced SCAR. The M240 still has pretty low recoil and a MUCH higher ROF.

I've said elsewhere that silenced LMGs are across-the-board inferior to silenced ARs and the silencer was probably only added so that LMG fanboys wouldn't complain about snipers and shotguns getting one. With that said, sometimes I just really want to use a silenced LMG, and in those cases, the AUG is the way to go. Besides, if you want to talk about silenced LMGs being inferior to ARs in HC, that's fine... but unsilenced LMGs are inferior to ARs in HC, too. The M240 is a good HC gun. I'm just saying that there are reasons to use the MG4, too. I became a huge fan of the "sweep" maneuver from my time with a Gripped M249 in CoD4- you put your sights to the left of where the enemy is, pull the trigger, and sweep to the right. The MG4 can pull it off, but the M240 can't- its recoil is low, but it's not quite low enough.

How do you know they didn't add in the shotgun silencers so the shotguns fanboys wouldn't complain about snipers and LMGs getting one?
They added LMG suppressors because they wanted every gun in the game to have a suppressor (launchers + akimbo shotguns notwithstanding).

How do you know they didn't add in the shotgun silencers so the shotguns fanboys wouldn't complain about snipers and LMGs getting one? Because shotguns are secondaries, and you can't really complain about what a secondary does or does not have. You know, since it's a secondary weapon and all. With that said, I'm sure that the devs decided that if they were going to silence one class, they were going to silence all three. It doesn't feel like silencers were made available on LMGs because silenced LMGs were awesome, it just feels like the developers just decided to throw them on everything and be done with it.
