Hey Den, Are you interested in creating a community mod for both CoD4 & 5? We could throw in our suggestions and ideas for the mod here: - To fix known issues in the game (exp: misaligned sights etc.)
- Add on new perks/weapons
- Possibly add on new Den costumes as the standard uniform for the soldiers
And other stuffs...

Hey Den, Do you think it's ok if G36c's recoil is lowered to match that of M4 carbine? This will make both guns effective at spraying. M4 will have superior rof while G36c will have steadier sights. Other than that, both guns will have the same stats.

If you go with that 30-30 thing we typed about before, lowering the kick might be overkill, even though the difference may only be a single degree, it could turn the G36c into a "Super Skorpion" at long range.
If still 30-20, then... I dunno. It could be an effective alternative to kick the G36c up to the other rifles' level, or still overkill.

For the heck of it, I've modified the Den.iwd you've sent me and added a bunch of nonsense into it: -removed ammo share for weapons of the same category to restore a lil' sense of realism. -for those weapons that do not share ammo (mainly, the MP44 and skorpion), I've added an extra clip for startAmmo. Deagle, P90 and Barrett excluded. -changed Skorpion's reload add time to 1.7 -for no reason at all, I've removed the (belt) tag behind the ammoName for LMGs so that M249 will share ammo with all 5.56x45mm weapons, RPD will share ammo wil AK-47 and M60 will share ammo with all 7.62x51mm weapons. Might restore it to it's default settings though. -switched idleamount for both R700 and Barrett. There're possibly more changes that I've forgot to type in. Obviously, I've copy and pasted the .iwd file into ModWarfare and renamed it so that all the weapons are unlocked by default. Perhaps the community could help us test it out? If you want my opinion on the matter go with the recoil change. A boost in damage means nothing if you can't hit anything at that kind of range. The G36c seems like it was sort of meant for the ACOG, and lower recoil helps realize this.

I think we should work on fixing unbalanced guns then making them so that they fit certain roles.
To balance the M16 I'm thinking we give it 20-40 damage. Then put a 1.2 multiplier on the chest.
SP 2 bullets to kill at close range 3 bullets to kill at close range
SP 3 bullets to kill at medium range 3 bullets to kill at medium range in the chest or above
SP 3 bullets to kill at long range in the chest or above more than 1 burst to kill at long range.
Also fix things like RPG swerve, ak74u hip accuracy with certain attachments.

I think that AK-74u's reduced hip accuracy with RDS and silencer is deliberate. Hadn't IW implement this discrepancy, the 74u could be overpowered.

For the g36c, Ive always recomended making it a hybrid smg/assault rifle with movement speed, hip accuracy range and such half way in between the two and increase damage to 40-20 (reduced range would compensate but also make it viable in cqb even with a fire rate lower than the 74u and mp5 which have that same damage and better hip accuracy) also make it's default iron sights the scope that it appears to have from single player so it becomes a good suppresed option.

The sights from single player are essentially as good as a red dot. The other suggestions were good though, hip accuracy and movement importantly. dog, I know.

So it's been revived? Well, if I may make some suggestions: G36cThe G36c thing is one of the most overlooked issues; it could use some help. It's a LOT shorter and lighter than the M4, so it being better at close range seems like the logical idea; I'm not really sure where the dev's were going with the ACOG thing. I'd definitely make it 40-20 (30 a bit much?) damage, and maybe better hip fire with the same off-triggers as the AK-74u (silencer & RDS). I'd leave the ACOG bonuses where they are. I'm against the half-speed/spread & default scope idea, that's a bit much. I think it would be best to focus on giving weapons a distinct feature that other weapon's do not have, rather than just normalizing the numbers. M16Whether or not it's "game breaking-ly bad", it would silence a lot of whines and give us more of an edge in terms of having the mod be accepted, a big and important hurdle. And you know, I think this can be solved with: 850 RPM, 30-30 damage, and LMG hip spread with RDS/silencer. It's still a one-burst-kill, but they'll have to track a bit due to the reduced rate of fire. And it'll be especially made for long ranges due to the sometimes-worse hip spread, reduced close-range damage, and RPM equivalent to the carbine. I don't like static damage values, but I think I wouldn't like 30-20 even more - it'd be as strong at range as the Skorpion, otherwise. Edit: I read the bit on reducing damage and adding in multipliers, and while that sounds great in principle, I think the natural recoil of the M16 - as low as it is - would make that more chance than skill. It might work if there were more horizontal recoil than vertical. MP5 & AK-74uNow, my problem is with the MP5. As already discussed, the AK-74u trounces it in pretty much every way besides firing from the hip whilst silenced. It's all in the recoil. If the MP5 had less recoil, I think it'd be a bit more even. Maybe trade some horizontal recoil for vertical, you might not even need to reduce the net sum. The AK-74u is...well, it's fine, I think, I just brought it up for comparison. R700 & BarrettSwap the sways. The Barrett with Stopping Power comes too close for comfort to making the M40 with Stopping Power obsolete, this would solve that AND make the R700 not-obsolete at the same time. It also makes a little sense because the Barrett is so friggin' heavy. Should we consider changes?M60 - Very high recoil for dubious benefit over other LMGs. LMGs - Apparently the "pr0s" think they're unfair. Should we even concern ourselves with them? Uzi - Everyone avoids it. Maybe it's psychological? Maybe we could say we made it more accurate, when we didn't really do anything. Skorpion - Just a reload-cancel, I don't think it really *needs* anything else. Maybe an extra clip to store, I sometimes run out even with Bandolier. :-\ Shotguns - I've been brewing some ideas on this front. I think it'd be a good idea for some improvement, anyone else?

So looks like we're trying to put guns into certain roles. In that case.
M16-Long range rifle, maybe increase delay between burst to stop it being used closer range AK-47-Short Medium range, probably just leave it like it is, high damage high recoil M4-Medium range gun-Leave it like it is G3-Medium to long range, thats why it has a smaller clip compared to the rest G36c-What Den said in the above post M14-MediumLong range mobile sniping,Give it less sway when using ACOG but bigger hip spread
Ok that way the M16 could only be used in between medium and long range range, the M14 would be for long range pretty much a slightly different sniper.
M4 would mainly for medium range but is more versatile than the g36c because it can be used closer range. The G36c would outperform the M4 at medium range but can't really do anything else. The AK-47 would be like the M4 except 1 is high damage high recoil the other is low damage low recoil. Making the AK-47 a slightly better gun close range.
The G3 would basically be a different version of M16 but if you spray with it you run out ammo. 1 fires in burst and has more ammo, the other is semi auto but less ammo.
Now for SMGs MP5-All round SMG Skorpion-Just leave it as it is but add reload cancel or shorten reload time which ever Mini-Uzi-Close range, thats why it high RPM maybe make its recoil only upwards or at least mostly upwards that way its not completely useless longer range P90-Leave as it is
MP5 and the P90 would be all round SMGs except the MP5 would have more recoil slower fire rate but more damage. The P90 would be fast, low recoil but low damage.
Skorpion and Mini-Uzi would be Close range monsters. The Skorpion could be used longer range because its very low recoil but the Mini-uzi would have higher damage but only upwards recoil so its dependable.
No idea what to do with 74u either make a all round SMG or a Assault rifle/SMG. Maybe like slightly bigger hip spread but has faster fire rate compared to Assault rifles but lower recoil compared to MP5.
LMGs I'm not really sure about but maybe like Medium range(and Long depending on LMG). Less. way bigger hip spread. maybe less recoil depending on your stance. I don't know not really sure.
With the Snipers some ideas would be to up the .50 cal so that its 1 shot kill anywhere and take off ACOG then give it way bigger recoil. that way good for people who can't aim but the recoil makes it too hard to take out lots of people. Then the R700 takes the .50cals old place. M21 maybe less recoil idk. Dragunov lesson recoil a tiny tiny bit, that way giving a chance to get a second shot in depending on how far away you are.
So then its M40-All round sniper M21-Mobile sniping SVD-Special sniping eg. with juggernaut or UAV jammer. Can also be use for mobile sniper R700-for taking out juggernauts .50cal-for people who can't aim well.
Also give one of the snipers a idle Crouch and ProneFactor.

I'd love a sniper that essentially had an 'anti-juggernaut' feature. IE, has higher multipliers everywhere on the body to mean that Juggernaut does not affect the person being shot. If something along these lines was given to the R700, it'd be way more useful.
Uzi needs a buff. Maybe damage?
Skorpion, make it's range higher.
M1911, give it essentially Skorpion features. 2 hit kill without stopping power at close range, but rapidly loses damage to make it a 4 hit kill at long range? Would actually give it a use.... An alternative to the Deagle or Stopping Power
G36... yay for 30-30. But still, it probably needs something else so it's useful at close range. Fire rate up? Hip fire accuracy up? A bit less kick again?
M60... It has no advantages over the SAW or RPD.... 50-50 but more recoil might be a fix.
I'd like to see the MP44 serve a real purpose rather than a fungun. Less recoil would make it half usable. Or Damage buff. Or fire rate buff?

I had this in mind for quite some time...
Since all the attachments (except RDS) provides a certain advantage at the cost of something else (example: silencer trades off range for stealth, grip trades recoil for perk 1 slot), I think the RDS should follow the trend as well.
How bout this, when aiming down the sights, all RDS weapon will have adsZoomFov of 65, hence they do not zoom at all. With exception of M60 and G36c, these 2 weapons will retain their adsZoomFov as 40 and 50 respectively. Hence, almost all the weapons will have to trade the minor zoom for pretty sights.
What do you think bout it?

It's actually a good idea. Red Dot essentially has no downside, other than perhaps the actual dot is rather large and fuzzy.

The weakness of the Red Dot is lack of a good focal point for long range shots.
A faint dot and the oblong shape of the sight will take a moment longer to reliably zero in on something small than putting it behind iron.

If you guys do finally make this mod, I'll support it and advertise is. I believe you guys can effectively re-balance the game well enough.
One request though, buff the M14 somehow, its awful. Either give it a 1.5 chest multiplier or tone down the recoil or something.

also, you might want to switch the 1911 and USP's range, but I don't like that idea.

Hey Den, what's your opinion about bolt snipers having the hip spread improved to that of LMG's or Assault's? Semi snipers have the natural capability to close-range-spam-your-opponent-to-death. Bolt snipers, even with the swapshot technique, are unable to fire anywhere near 1200 rpm. So instead of giving bolt snipers the equal ability to 1200 rpm as well (which sounds kind of silly), maybe an improvement in hip spread might give it a fighting chance in CQC situaltions? P.S. Man, why am I talking about this anyway... its not like any server is gonna host this mod

The original rifle max spread with a low minimum spread and a decay rate that will take four to three seconds to decay to best accuracy.
Basically, the crosshairs will need a few seconds to focus. The player can move around without increasing the spread (jumping will still do so) and when he fires, the spread goes all the way back to maximum, needing a while to recover again. For CQB, a higher DecayRate, 0.5 would be better.
