So Ive herd tons of different opinions on the Ak 47. Some think of it as the new MP44 while others like myself think its even better than it was in COD4. So I wanted to know how you guys feel about it.

So Ive herd tons of different opinions on the Ak 47. Some think of it as the new MP44 while others like myself think its just as good as it was in COD4. So I wanted to know how you guys feel about it. Both are right. The AK-47 is just as good as it was in CoD4. Of course, every other gun in the entire game is better, which means that the AK-47 is the new MP44.

I like it more than the SCAR, but otherwise, ACR and M16>ALL

But the AK-47 was one of the best guns in the game, M16 aside. Unless I'm missing something it's pretty much just a TAR with idle, which is honestly not a big deal.

imo the AK's fire rate, recoil and bullet spread make it feel closer to a SCAR-H with extended mags. i don't like the sway, so although i unlocked all the attachments for it, i never use them.

Like the MP44, the MW2 AK47 has things about it that put it low on the weapon-of-choice totem pole. The MP44 had both a slow rate of fire, yet a very strong kick. It did not idle, which was actually pretty good. The slow speed would lose in almost any close encounter and kick would lose against the guns made for long range shooting.
The new AK47 is the median between the TAR-21's and SCAR-H's rate of fire and kick. It doesn't really excel at anything, but it is an okay weapon... unless you put something on it. The idle, while it may be bearable to those experienced with it in COD4, is debilitating compared to the other guns.
Just like the MP44, the AK47 is a gun "without attachments".

The new AK47 is the median between the TAR-21's and SCAR-H's rate of fire and kick. Thats probably why i like it so much. So it pretty much comes down to personal preference with the gun I guess.

Den hit the nail on the head, as usual. But since I love me some silencers, it's pretty much always a no-no.

atackments are to good nowadays to miss... (if you dont need a red dot etc, and like the irons, you still have 4 good choises to boost your killing/survivibility: Heatbeat, silencer, FMJ, free grenade launcher) taking neither of these is pretty much a waste I guess.... so AK, nah dont think so.

Yeah and the only attachment without sway is the ACOG which comes with more recoil to spoil the long range shooting.

The idle is almost nothing, it would've taken a while for me to even notice it. The kick is not that much at all though the weapon does buck relatively much compared to others. Its power is still as phenomenal as in CoD 4. Though other ARs are seriously more overpowered than the AK, it feels so alive in my hands. The new metallic fire sound is also fantastic . I don't give a crap about, what'll it be, 20 idle at 0,8 speed or something? It's not even noticeable IMO. The CoD 4 idling was tiny too and extremely easy to compensate for, let alone this amount of idling. I stick FMJ on it, and god help you when you find me with this staring at you 8) .

It seems to be a decent middle ground between SCAR and TAR for those that don't mind the idle. Might be more of a problem on consoles depending on skills and play style. Then again could be worth just using sans attachments.
A lot of people seem to swear by the TAR, though. Personally I'm not a huge TAR fan. It just bucks a bit too much for me. I usually prefer high damage and low recoil even if it sacrifices a little TTK, because missed shots sacrifice a LOT of TTK. But some people feel like the TAR is low recoil. heh
There's not much point comparing MW2 weapons to CoD4 ones, though. Relative to MW2 weapons and ARs in particular the TAR is high recoil, AK a bit less, and SCAR is probably medium. ACR seems to be the low recoil champ but the high damage AR's don't get low recoil.

Its a pretty solid gun even with attachments. Sure there is sway but its so slight its negligible. Not quite as good as the scar, but better then the tar IMO.

The idle isn't bad, it's just that it gets destroyed by guns without idle.

I still think the AK is only nerfed with idle just to keep it from being overused due to the weapon's notoriety.
