I was just wondering if it actually captures the HQ faster when you have multiple people in there or if you're better off having one person do the capture while the others take up the best defensive positions and only swap in if that person gets killed?
When everybody packs in there it's just far too easy for a toob or semtex to take them all out. (I dunno why more people don't use Blast Shield for HQ, I swear by it for that game type!! 1 grenade I can maybe kill some people with, which I could also kill with a toob or something else vs being able to survive explosive after explosive while I cap. Hells!)
Of course if I OMAed it I could have a class for offense and getting to the HQ, then switch to riot+blast shield for capturing it, and even switch again to defend it, though the riot+blast shield doesn't do bad there, actually. It keeps you alive and distracts enemies, but then once the HQ is yours there's really no need to stay inside it, just to deny the location to enemies, which may work better from outside the HQ it-self. I can still see a benefit to having one hard to kill defender inside just in case an enemy sneaks past, though.

In Domination, flag capture speed is definitely a function of the number of people on the flag. I'm pretty sure the HQ is, too, although I haven't played HQ in MW2 yet so I don't know for sure.

Okay... I have basically assumed that it is, but thought I would ask.

Everything caps faster with more people. However more than 3 is overkill. If you need more than 3 to cap a flag/HQ you don't deserve it.

what about flags (in capture the flag)? They capture so fast already that the point is moot, but I'm pretty sure I've had 2 people there before and it didn't seem faster.
Also how much faster for the other game types? If you have 2 people is it twice as fast? 3 people, 3 times as fast?

Only one person can hold the flag so the first person to touch it gets it. When returning the flag 2 people can go and make it faster , but by the time a second person gets to the flag (after you masterly killed the entire enemy team by running back to their base with Model "Terminators" 1887s) the speed is insignificant.

Yeah I noticed that it now actually takes a moment to grab or cap a flag in CTF. In general though it's so fast that if I run through the flag I've grabbed it without even slowing down, so it barely seems to make much difference.
