Hi everyone, After an unsuccessful search through past threads, I ask you for precisions about silencers in MW2. Less Damage, less range, etc... Can anyone sum it up? BTW, sorry if this thread already exists after all You are my bro, bro.

There's plenty of info in the thread below entitled "Weapon Damage" In a nutshell, same rules apply as in COD4 - only affects Range, with the exception of weapons new to have silencers, such as sniper rifles and LMGs, which lose power. I believe shotguns lose Range only, but I can't confirm.

Sniper Rifles - Damage lowered from 70 to 50 LMGs - Damage reduced by 10, pretty bad attachment choice ARs, SMGs, Pistols, Machine Pistols - Range values reduced, ARs suffer the most significant reduction. Shotguns - Pellets disappear closer, horrible attachment choice

Don't the silencer reduce recoil? Though it wasn't measured in the recoil thread so there is no evidence or measurement as of yet.

No it does not reduce recoil. The reduction in flash and noise may make it appear that way but view kick/recoil is not reduced..
