(Note: this is an effort for a collaboration based map guide. All I am doing is to start the thread and include an overhead map with callouts. Hopefully other bros can chime in by posting their insights using the callouts, and organically grow this thread into a useful discussion). Hardpoint locations: Vantage points: Car Park: stairs to top, south side broken wall overlooking C, west side broken wall overlooking Bus Stop. Security: north side entrance facing C-Dom, south side entrance facing Crater, top west side window overlooking Medics.

I'll start with my 2 cents.
As I stated in my sound analysis thread, I experimented with Awareness+DS based sound whoring and it can be effective in certain locations. On Aftermath, I found the following spot suited for such practice:
1) FLARES. I can hear players sprinting through B-Dom in the middle or through the Bus on the south side.
2) Same goes on the other side of the B-Dom: PURPLE
3) TILES area near B-Dom is also a cool spot for ambush.
4) Overwatch at BOOKSTORE & CANTEEN around A-Dom, and CAR PARK & SECURITY around C-Dom.

IMHO: Aftermath is Downturn (from MW3) version 2.0
Except done correctly.
Probably my favourite map. Nice and big... spots to rush... spots to camp and snipe.... good balance of outdoor and indoor combat.
Perhaps the best map in the game.

How the hell is this good to snipe in? EVERY map is good for sniping. Run, stop, ADS, aim and kill, where is the problem? SR is just a giant pistol.

I just went 56-0 on this map and I still think it sucks.

I just don't like how wide it feels. The spawns don't flip very much but i never know what side of the map they are pushing up so I end up missing the main flow of enemies. I mean it might be the age old "hurrr too many kamperzz i have the awareness of a block of wood" mentality but I honestly find this map fantastically done. Might be a little of that.

Although Aftermath is very nice visually and every building on its own would be great in any COD MP game, the whole map as a combination of objects is somehow strange or gloomy and unpleasant (PURPLE, SPRINKLERS, FLARES).
HC KC/TDM: I play alone and on Aftermath I really feel ALONE. Noone around, teammates run away and disappear in B-DOM, opponents are far away, buildings seem empty, a lot of tactical loitering spots.
Core DOM: map is very good, much better than Drone Meltdown Express Turbine or Cargo.
Pros/Cons:
+ all weapons friendly + no stupid “dead zones”, one can survive in B area more than 2 sec. (see Drone, Express) + no stupid countersniping positions on opposite ends (see Drone, Standoff). + buildings and rooms seem “natural”: no Disneyland, no gaybars, no Eiffel Tower. + destroyed buildings and “war climate” + a lot of cover so annoying stupid killstreaks are less annoying: Hunter Killer, Airstike, Lodestar. + most idiotic killstreak ever: VSAT, much easier to survive, spawns at A-DOM and C-DOM are easy to defend, killed opponents spawn far away. + structure of the map is clean, it is not a "swiss chese" where enemies might come from any direction ->> "tactical" eq and tactical killstreaks usable and effective (claymore, sentry gun, ect)
- many map areas “seem” unused and empty, especially when 5vs5, 5vs4 or 4vs4, you might run across the map and discover no one is there, no opponents, no teammates ... hmm ... is it bad ?
-------------- TL;DR: Well, looks like a very good map indeed ...

I actually enjoy using purple for tactical loitering. It seems like most people rush in not expecting to meet resistance. I usually toss a betty in the toilets area and at one of the sprinkler entrances. At the very least it gives me a heads up when I am being flanked and then I'm free to pop in and out of the middle around b-dom.

Purple is the massacre central.
