I know stats are very difficult to work out in this game, but has anyone worked out the weapon ranges yet?

I started using a slinced M16 today, which has a surpsiingly long range, for example. Perhaps this may explain the differences between seemingly identical weapons such as M16/FAMAS and M4/ACR?
